Here is my baby that I rescued from the animal shelter. They told me she was a basenji/husky mix and that she was 7 months old when we rescued her. That was in april of 2008. The more that I read about the basenji, the more I wonder if she is just a basenji. The only thing that gets me is that out of all the pictures I have seen is that basenji's have brown eyes and mine has blue! Sasha however has all the quirks of the basenji. I am so confused with her, that I just call her a basenji, cause that is what her temperment and that are closest to. She reminds me of a cat when she cleans herself, and she very rarely barks. she makes a lot of high pitched noises when playing with her. Could someone please help in the looks of her? These pics are the ones I took of her after rescuing her, I will post more tomorow.

My dog loves her baths as well. She will even stand underneath the tap and let me wash her with the water straight from the tap. When we are done drying her off she goes crazy running around the house with a spurt of built up energy and sliding on the carpet on her side and using her front paws on her face. It is so cute to watch.

Hey Thank you, I have noticed the paws to be basenji as well. She likes to curl herself into a ball and she stays with me, no matter where I go. I love her so much and could not ask for a better dog.

Hi I rescued a dog from the local animal shelter last year and they told me that she was a basenji/husky mix. I have been doing a lot of reading on the basenji and she sounds to be a whole lot basenji and maybe very little husky! She is full grown now and weighs approx. 20-25lbs. She has blue eyes and is tri-colored. She has long fur, but not very long, I would say it is about an inch long. She has all the temperament and quirks of the basenji, but I am not a breeder so I have no clue. I would really like some opinions on if she is a basenji or not. Even though it is hard to tell thru pictures online. If anyone could be of some assistance that would be great.
