New Game

Basenji Talk
  • New game with Mica. Mica gets to play with an empty plastic water bottle that has an approximately one inch hole at the top. Easier for her to retrieve the treat when she gets the treat. A few treats are placed inside or one at a time. Mica has to sit, almost quietly, since this is a game, and the count goes - 1-2-3- and the bottle gets spun and she watches and than she gets to tackle and catch the spinning bottle and try to get the treats out. Maybe one treat at a time, or several shook before it is spun in the bottom of the bottle. New fun game. BaMica. :D

  • Great idea, BaMica! Magnum loves interactive games! I'll be giving this one a whirl.

  • Thanks this is great just tried it with my B and he seems to be enjoying the challenge

  • I have put treats in a bottle for Jojo to work on getting them out but I never thought about spinning and counting first. Great idea! I will give it a try…Thanks...

  • Hollie would simply chew up the plastic bottle to get to the treats. She has done this with EMPTY bottles. That's my B!

Kaiser doesn't really have any except his game of steal the humans clothes or whatever mum forgets and leaves in his reach, I know he has something because of the wooden floors as I can hear his prancing around sound, does love his kong ball which has a hole in it which I stuff with freeze dried tripe which when he can't be bothered getting it out plays " here human get it out for me" and bugs us with it until we relent, bugging the cat is a game he likes but doesn't last long as the cat has other ideas. @tanza: Of course the problem you have with bringing home a puppy that is only 8 or 10 weeks, is that they really need to have 2 sets of shots before being in a public place… and also the fact that they will not be leash trained to be in a public area. That is why when I place pups with someone that has a adult dog, I have them come to my house. I put them in the back yard and then bring the puppies out... Puppies are too young to have "territorial responses" to the yard and it is a netural place for the adults..... works quite well .... I do however put up all my adults in their crates during that time.... beings that we live in the middle of nowhere (hahaha:D ) we dont have anywhere really dog oriented to take them to meet.. like i said previously we are surrounded by christmas tree fields, and my boyfriends aunt lives maybe 500 feet down the road on a farm, with a big yard and pasture.. so maybe that will be the best place to introduce them

Welcome…no breeding info. from me, but I'm certain you'll get lots of feedback and have fun with others who share your passion for Basenjis! I got mine from a NH breeder and we live in VT. Enjoy!

I think an original idea should be developed that is associated with bs. The weims dressed up is so classic for them. Bs should somehow be associated with messes. Maybe they should be paired with new furniture advertising or TP sales!!! Weims became so popular tho, they are having probs in rescue. They are very high energy and most people can't give them enough exercise. I think my idea would prevent Bs from becoming too popular and lots more ending up in rescue. :D
