She is not too old to train, but even saying that, she is a basenji, and no matter the age, a bored basenji will find things to entertain herself, often things we would prefer she not touch. A companion helps, but even so, given temptation a basenji will usually go for it. Think "baby-proof" your house with a baby who can climb, leap, dig and chew. As said above by others, toys which present a challenge will also help.

@moetmum: A basenji with a KC Gold GC! That just doesn't seem right! You should be really proud of her, that is a real achievement. Don't forget to let us know when she gets it. Hey she hasn't got it yet , Gerry ;) I hope she does, there is such a lot to it. We struggle a bit with heeling off lead.

thanks everyone for your comments, yes we had a great time and are going back very soon. Renault i said to Howard that we should hang around in case Princess Anne was interested in the Basenjis. He wasn't impressed ;) I think she has Staffies. I agree a pic of her with Kwame and Malaika rooting through her handbag would have been priceless :D

This is very interesting, Sinbaje. I have also read that because of the way water is recycled in reservoirs (in the UK, I don't know of other countries) such residues are causing hormonal problems in humans!
