    Vicki there is Top Dog breeder in Waldron, Arkansas also has bloodhounds. Are the two the same if so I spoke with her last spring was not impressed with her at all. She maybe great I do not know but really more into her bloodhounds.

    Sad to see, clearly this "breeder" is in it for the money, not for the breed or the pet..

    I noticed it says ( http://www.topdogbasenjis.com/index.html)theythey) will have 5 litters this december, ready to go to their new homes on Feb 14 2010…5 litters.. all colors available.....
    How can you raise 20 puppies ( lets say they all get 4 each) in a home environment with children...do they live in a barn..?

    I agree with you Vicki, it is a good thing Cami is with you, on several levels…
    I people can do this and sleep good at night is beyond me...and they are showing their kids this is how you act, despicable

    In 2006, the Haynie's Bs were for sale by a breeder named Glenda in NE TX. It is sad that many of these breeding dogs just get sold from breeder to breeder. I believe the dam who is out of Carr came from MO.

    Wish we could shut them all down who behave this way. Treating dogs as if they are livestock is repulsive to me. That goes for any breed of dog. I believe dogs were put on this earth to be companions to humans and to be treated as such.

    I wish that breeders (people) what ever they are had to live in a cage and have the same done to them as what they have done to dogs, cats.

    Sadly, in this country ,everyone can have a dog or 100 and a child..and for the most part, they can treat them anyway they want to…until someone steps up and says NO, this isn't right.
    So we really all need to be the keepers of those who can't speak for themselves and if you see something that concerns you, call the humane society or CPS.
    We all have to keep these folks from harming those who can't speak.
    Sorry if this sounds like preaching, but I do truely believe every word.

    Hope you have a good trip and he is all you are looking for AND passes all health-testing with flying colors! The spring puppies we are having in the next month [both litters no less!] were the ones we'd planned for Fall 2009. So I moved up my 2010 breedings to Fall 2009… now the girls all need to cooperate with my plans!

    Well got some batteries for my pedipaws and showed Kaiser held it against his leg turned it on, held it against his nail turned it on said good boy and put it away. Later in the day had a go at using it for real with treat rewards since he had reacted so well, no problem always amazes me how calm he is. Went from toe to toe as they get hot and finished all of them. Do see it doesn't have much power but think it is a good start for me to use until I can get a Dremel and didn't take me as long as using clippers and then hand filing, so will use it weekly and take a little off each time. Cost me NZ$11.50 including postage but not including battery cost, so wasn't too bothered if it didn't suit. Happy me, happy basenji. Jolanda and Kaiser

    @Quercus: http://www.pedigrees.zandebasenjis.com/ Did you try here, above? Can you put the sire and dam's numbers into the ACA website? Or is there a number to actually talk to someone, maybe they could help you more? I would think that since you have the litter number, the ACA could help you, if you could talk to a human…. I contacted the ACA last Friday and was told I had to prove that Tippy was a rescue by faxing such documentation. I sent that information in, similar to the info shown in the original post above, including BRAT documentation accordingly. Then, yesterday, I followed up with ACA and was told that a supervisor made the determination that they could'nt help me unless BRAT issued an ACA registration application to me. Then I contacted a few BRAT board members and one answered saying they've never had seen nor heard of such a thing. I'm beginning to feel like the ACA is trying to hide something, something to the effect that they are really a "false marketing front" for the profit-making pet industry. A couple of very nice basenji-loving folks have stepped forward to try to help track down potential puppy mill/pedigree information, but if they are not successful, I wonder how I can convince the ACA that my interest in Tippy's pedigree is purely medical and to support the Fanconi research efforts? Does anyone think it would help if I told the ACA that Tippy is already neutered (as BRAT requires for all their rescues)? I don't necessarily want to register him at all, but if that's what it takes to get his pedigree, I will do it.
