Thanks for all the replies!! I am twenty years old, a college student, and live in Columbus, Ohio. I just lost my dog Riley about a month ago. She was a Chiarat. Something bad in my life happened, and I had to move. I live with my Mom now, and she is very allergic to everything, and sadly she was allergic to Riley. I had to give her up at the local Humane Scociety, but don't think bad of me on that. Two weeks later she was adopted by a wonderful family, and the lady that did the filing for Riley gave me her cell phone number to contact her at anytime, and kept me updated. It was really hard. But I am so happy that she found a loving home. I decided to get a basenji, because of well of course my mom, and I've done a lot of research, and I believe that this breed will suit me well. But now the good news. My pup (haven't decided his name yet) is about three weeks old and is in Caldwell, Texas. He has a couple brothers and sisters, and lives on a 600 acre farm for now. I am flying to Texas with my mom to pick him up the first week of February. I don't believe in having my pup shipped to me. That's just my opinion. Here is a pic of him, his momma, and poppa. The breeder that I found has been amazing. Every question I have asked she has responded right away.
