My name is Rose Thomson. My husband Aaron and I have been owned by Basenjis since 1989. Over the years we have bred and shown a number of champions - my avatar is a photo of Baruh from the 2002 National. Baruh was our first homebred champion - Am/Cdn Ch Premier's Trouble's Baruh'n. He was may heart dog and I miss him terribly. I know he will be waiting at the bridge. We no longer breed and only show occasionally. Our oldest Basenji right now is 16 yr old Cdn Ch Klassic's Lucky Stripe Premier.

Welcome to the forum! You must have loads of owned-by-basenjis wisdom. And stories :) We would love some pictures! How many total B's do you have now? How is your elder doing?

Howdy Rose! Good to hear from you. We miss visiting! I'm hoping to maybe head across the border this spring, that is if they're still not worried about passports. I think they keep pushing back the change? Haven't bothered to get a new one yet, it's been about 13 years and was hoping I wouldn't have to fuss with it. lol But we still have some unfinished business over yonder. :)
How's Aaron doing these days?

You know I've always thought I might go back and get that nasty sucker - but probably wouldn't let me cross the border with a weapon. I've always wished I just let Jacque kill the darn thing - rather than me jump it and break both ankles.
Apologies to those of you who don't know the story of the Chronicles of Sarnia Legend of the Black Squirel - this may seem like an inside story and it is.
In any event - hard to imagine Rose that the dogs are that age - could that mean - gasp - that we are aging as well??????
