The Basenji Club of America and OFA are doing a health survey (actually OFA is doing a health survey for all breeds). Nope.... not in my opinion....not atypical. especially if these pups come for BYB or Millers.... That said, Giardia is not uncommon nor is a pup with a UTI.... In regards to Giardia, I wonder if these pups shown symptoms when still with the breeder?

I didnt know about pine needles either. I have pine trees all around my house. Though I don't think they would forage on them. But if the tree was in the house it would be a different story. For sure they would have it knocked down the second I got it up. I opted for a fake tree and put it in a room they dont usually have access to. Thank you for the good info!

The fanconi test needs to be ordered from the OFA website, https://secure.offa.org/cart.html Have you talked to Nilo's breeder about health testing. Without pedigree information his tests alone don't provide a very complete picture since disorders like PRA are late onset.

I wasn't happy with my Ind result from two clear parents because I told them before I sent the swab back that I wasn't happy with it and would have liked another swab. It was tested anyway and I almost expected a wrong result. It wasn't necessarily an error at the lab but human error before they ever received it (on my part) I think they should have sent another swab, I would have been happy to pay for it. I was told if I wanted a repeat test I would have to start from scratch and pay all over again.
