A couple of years ago I bought a real dog bed and mine love them. Love the $12 ones as much as the $40 ones, like the sides to curl up against, or to hold their heads. I had bought big flat beds for them before, but they all really love the ones with sides. I like Buddy's idea of stuffing old quilts with foam 'egg crate', too!
Hiking Pack Models

Hello! My little girl Nomi is a perfect backpacking dog. We have gone on multiple overnight trips together, but she has never carried her own pack before. I'm having trouble finding a pack that fits her correctly, and was hoping to find someone who has already gone through this with their B. It seems like the models I have looked at are either too small in the small size, and medium is just a tad too large on her. Does anyone have recommendations for specific pack models that fit their basenji just right? Any help would be appreciated! Thank You!!!

Hope someone here has some help. But knowing how much she weighs and measurements might help.
-
She's a pretty standard size: 24 lbs, 16" tall, about 16-18" long.
-
I'll ask on facebook, see if any of my friends can recommend a brand.
This site has how to measure. I am not aware of the company, but should help you with what you need. Girth is important for fit, in fact most important

Her Girth is right at 22''. Ruffwear is what we have looked into, since they seam to be the leaders in dog packs in america. 22" is at the bottom end of the sizes of both the approach and palisades pack making them just a tad large for her. Although she hasn't tried on the XS approach just yet.

Someone says this is a good place:

Thank You @DebraDownSouth !!! We have not seen these packs yet. They are half the price and weight than the ruffwear too!

My friend says the woman who makes them is a Samoyed breeder and as crazy as those dogs are, it should be sturdy

Another friend suggested these... I like the other better though:

Thanks so much @DebraDownSouth we really like the wolfpacks. Plus, they are fairly local for us, and we like to support smaller companies like them. We ordered one right up! We will have to post a photo of her on trail with it on!
