And my point is this;I know for a fact, you'll sale your puppies to ANYONE who has the money!! you do'nt screen them first!....As I said,I paid top $$$ for a registered Basenji that had Fanconi syndrome, from someone like you!!! I should be the one to judge!!!!! MY HEART WAS BROKEN TO THE POINT< IT NEARLY KILLED ME !!!! NEXT TIME,ASK FIRST!!!<<

You have no idea what she does. People stand in line for her puppies... she isn't worried about the uneducated uninformed people who would even consider your dogs! She is concerned about puppies being bred with the best chance of good health. The fact that you paid a lot of money for a dog without researching info and being sure fanconi tested... okay that happens. But that you then didn't BOTHER to get educated and learn better so you wouldn't do the same thing to others... producing dogs without knowing SQUAT about their genetic health... that is inexcusable. I am sorry you failed to use your broken heart and pain to better use and care enough to not become the same type of breeder.

I don't see the point in breeding and raising a litter of purebreds and not registering them. It's not expensive, and if you're going to be paying for other things associated with responsibly raising a litter anyway, why wouldn't you?

Suspect she can't register as she bought the sisters without papers. I'll be surprised if she indeed has registration numbers for the bitches.

  • Oh I figured as much....

  • @Darlene Whooa girl...you need to put a saddle on that anger you're spewing out! You don't even know the woman you're talking too! And so quick to be angered at what someone wrote that's the truth? YOU joined this forum strictly for the attempt to sell those puppies! And stop using the story about the one you lost to Fanconi Syndrome & WHY didn't you contact the breeder as soon as you found out that you're dog had Fanconi?? Especially after paying such a price for it! That's one thing that all good, honest breeders are testing for BEFORE they breed any dogs! TESTING for it & not using any dog with Fanconi is the only way to eradicate Fanconi!! You say that you knew you'd run into someone like that when you came on here....so WHY DID YOU COME HERE?? Trying to sell your puppies! Why don't you spend a few bucks & put them in your local Newspaper for sale?? No one here wants your little puppies! And perhaps you should find out WHO you're ranting at before you rant! All that bull you spewed out ~ it only provided spittle on your screen! Take your own advice & JUST MOVE ALONG! Out of the forums here! Taa Taaa!

  • You can actually breed a dog who is a carrier to a noncarrier and none of the puppies will have Fanconi. Many breeders do it because eliminating all carriers will decrease our gene pool. Sometimes even affected males are bred to clear females. (Pregnancy can acerbate the condition so breeding an affected female is not, imho, a good humane choice.) I wouldn't hesitate at a carrier... in fact Cara is a carrier. But absolutely breeders who care have all their animals tested before breeding. It is a big concern, but so are many other genetic diseases. Responsible breeders check for them, and they know a lot about what other dogs in the line have or have produced. It's not just throwing 2 dogs together.

  • @Darlene
Was wondering if you have any pups left? We currently have an adult Basenji and are wanting to get her a companion.

It Took Me 1.5 years of looking and talking to breeders before I was able to get on the waiting list in time to get a pup. You have to start preparing and talking to breeders in the early fall in order to get on the reservation list for a puppy by next spring

@hawk8875 - Those listing with AKC are paid advertisements. There is no requirement on who can pay to be listed. Go to www.basenji.org and then to find breeder and you can search by state. Breeders listed on there are members of the Basenji Club of America.

@venserro - Please be sure to check out pedigrees and also health testing, you should always check that out for yourself... I always refer anyone interested in Basenjis, including my own breed to Ofa.org to review DNA testing... you can look for responsible breeders at www.basenji.org and you would be better looking at the Pacific Northwest...pleaseask for references and for sure health testing. +

Okay so I don't repeat myself over and over... please avoid puppymills/byb pages. Go only to the the basenji club for a list of breeders, use this link"" http://basenjiclubofgb.org/breeders.php Even THEN check out the breeders. As for champdogs site... when a site allows anyone to post if they pay a fee, not a good source. If all you need is a fee and one health test to be approved to be a member, not a good site if you are looking for well bred dogs from responsible breeders. Memtuka keeps protesting.. but this info is directly from her own pages. If she has more testing, then she lacks the professionalism to comprehend that people knowledgeable about breeding would never leave out tests, nor expect puppy buyers to look for further tests. As it is, it is woeful. As is her comment that she tests only if going to breed. A good breeder tests every single dog they produce and keep because they want to know what is in the line. In response to noodle a day ago reply quote @DebraDownSouth Really??? I don't know where you are getting your misinformation from. You seem to know who I am but continue to hide behind your moniker. The stud dogs I used ARE health tested and as far as I am aware Champdogs is a reputable website. May I suggest that you check your facts yet AGAIN and retract your libelous comments.<< I am getting my info from YOUR OWN PAGES. So if your dogs are tested more than I wrote, may I suggest you correct YOUR PAGES which is where I got, and said I got, my info from. Libelous when it is your pages, that's pretty funny. All anyone has to do is click on each of your dog's individual pages and see you list only the testing I said, with only the import with significant testing. Too silly to even respond to the moniker comment.. from someone whose name here is "noodle". Most breeders here use their kennel or real names, btw. As for info on your own pages.. members can simply click and verify.. or check screencaps below. I do hope if you actually have more testing, you will care enough about the image you are portraying of a breeder who has almost no health testing done on your first bitch, nor any listed for the studs of the litters. Lazy or impressively uninformed about the importance, I don't know. 2011 Litter: YOUR PAGE: ... Absolutely doesn't say sire is tested,on either litters YOU LIST.. see screen cap below. Her "health tested" lists only Fanconi. You say PPM, but it isn't listed. Sadly, you act like that is BIG..but yet, it isn't. Your import has testing, so it isn't like you aren't aware how much needs to be done. But again, you only list Fanconi. No PRA, hip, thyroid, heart, nothing else. But your page says "DAM TESTED"... nothing about sire being tested. If he really is, your job to note them, not "libelous" on my part to say what YOUR PAGE says: 28th November 2015 - Basenji (Dam Health Tested) As said before your IMPORT is tested :::Hi-Lite Bulldobas Wild Child of Memetuka ShCM (Imp Fin) https://www.champdogs.co.uk/litter/38881 Sadly, the readers can click on each of your dogs to see the scant testing YOU listed: https://www.champdogs.co.uk/breeder/24278 Our Dogs Ch Bulldobas Wild Child Of Memetuka (IMP FIN) ShCM - Basenji (Health Tested) Ch Memetuka Jabali ShCM - Basenji (Health Tested) : ::: the import: Hip Score : 3/4 = 7 - 29th May 2015 PPM : CLEAR - 17th February 2015 Fanconi Syndrome : CLEAR/NORMAL - 25th February 2014 Bas_PRA1 : CLEAR/NORMAL - 11th February 2011 Memetuka Cream O'the Crop - Basenji (Health Tested) Fanconi Syndrome : CLEAR/NORMAL - 22nd March 2017 Memetuka Dealer's Choice - Basenji (Health Tested) Bas_PRA1 : CARRIER - 17th March 2016 Memetuka Hi Roller - Basenji (Health Tested)Hip Score : 4/5 = 9 - 14th June 2017.....
