There is also a link on how to "vet" breeders, question you should ask. https://www.basenji.org/learn/ScreeningBreeders.htm Also check out health testing yourself. You need to have the registration numbers and/or registration name and you can check at www.ofa.org Here is the link for questions to ask breeders.     Glad you got your dog! I looked for a thread on her but didn't see it. Please be sure to get her Fanconi tested (NOT the strip tests, but the actual Fanconi DNA test) as soon as possible if she is not already tested. BRAT strip tests but does not DNA and sometimes people get confused and think a clear strop means no Fanconi. Only by doing the DNA will you know.

    Yes, I am considering :) I already filled out the forms for basenjirescue.org After talking with my family, we're willing to take a rescue pup from from last winter, hopefully I'l get a reply soon.

    How about an almost 1-1/2 yr old black/white B-mix? Nahhh - I can't do it . . . sorry - forget it !??
