    Looking for information on winter 2013/2014 litters if possible.

    Nothing is for certain yet, as I'm still doing research, but hoping to be pointed in the direction of someone who may have :

    1.) Female, pet quality puppy (to be spayed)
    2.) Brindle or black
    3.) Able to be kept 11-12 weeks
    4.) Puppy able to be shipped to AK (breeder near west coast preferably).
    5.) Litter expected to be available for homes anywhere from December 2013 to Feb. 2014

    I'd be looking to do 'fun' competitive nose work and lure coursing. Possibly agility.

    That's not all I'm looking for (as I have a certain personality I'd be looking for as well), but the basics….

    I've been through the BCOA breeder referral directory before, but it would be incredibly helpful if I could get personalized hints as to who might have these specifics. (also trying to avoid being disrespectful by contacting someone who disagrees with some of things I'm needing...like shipping pups, etc.) Not everyone has a website, and I'm not generally connected to word of mouth since I'm not into the show ring. Living in AK doesn't help either, ha.

    • Any third party 'suggestions' would be generally appreciated as well :)

    I don't know if you've checked it out but there are a few groups on Facebook that list their litters for this year as well as looking on here.

    Thanks for the recommendation; I did actually look at some of the face book pages. The one I'm looking at right now is exclusively designed for litter announcements. There are some gorgeous "European" litters, but I don't see many litter announcements in the US that have what I'm looking for. Will keep looking just in case I missed something.

    I know that in the PNW, Fopaws Basenjis is expecting two litters, not sure what their requirements are for shipping, you would need to contact them…. I can assure you that you would not be disrespected by Therese... website is http://fopawsbasenjipuppies.com/puppy_and_adults

    If you don't have your hearts set on a Basenji puppy, please go to Basenji Rescue and Transport where you can view Basenjis available for adoption. Basenjis are often given up for death of an owner or moving to a non-pet facility. And some are given up because the owner only heard "They don't bark and they don't shed" and did not do the research required to be a Basenji owner. My current Basenji and light of my life, Binti, was given up because she was "vicious" (She did play bows and shook up the corner of the comforter...both activities that owner interpreted as wanting to attack him. Luckily, the foster said "bring Binti right back!" because she knew this guy should not have ANY dog , let alone a Basenji.) All of my Basenjis were rescues and I could not have asked for better dogs, companions and friends.

    Try. contacting Cindy Griswold at http://flyn-hi-hounds.com. She's really near Austin, and I'm 99% sure she doesn't have any puppies, but if there was a reputable breeder near you with puppies she would likely know about that.

    @Janneke: I would just LOVE LOVE LOVE to add a Basenji, but I study.. I would like to have some time off when the new pup is here, so it should come here like.. NOW (my vacation of 9 weeks just started :D).. Haha.. As we all now, B's get puppies when I'm in the middle of my 'school year'.. Ugh.. I have some nice breeders on my list :D ;) Your Shmi is also from Sweden right? Tillo is as well :) But we are going very 'off topic' in Fibula's thead. Sorry for that Fibula!!     I think I might have to start my hunt from scratch. There is a good possibility I will move to Jamaica in the future so I called the customs office yesterday about dog policies. Since there hasn't been rabies on the island in 200 years they are REALLY strict. they only let dogs in from the UK and Ireland. Im soo mad :mad: . . . but I'm glad I found out now. Sooooo does anyone know any UK sources / breeders? ::SIGH:: I want to be an owner so bad
