Nicely done. And I totally agree - those that work on behalf of BRAT are angels in my mind.
VOTE for BRAT at the Chase Community Giving
-
Voting begins today on this year's Chase Community Giving program, which will award $5 million in Chase grants to 196 charities selected by Facebook users and Chase online customers.
The public can vote at Facebook.com/ChaseCommunityGiving, and Chase customers have additional votes to use at ChaseGiving.com.
The voting period continues through Sept. 19.The nonprofit with the highest vote count will receive $250,000. The next ten runners-up will receive $100,000, followed by $50,000 for the next 35, $20,000 for the next 50 and $10,000 for the final 100.
30,000 nominees
In June, Chase customers and employees nominated nearly 30,000 charities as finalists for the $5 million in grants. -
So far, there are only 2 votes for BRAT. Do the BRAT volunteers know about this program?

Jennifer, voting just started yesterday. I'm not sure if BRAT volunteers know. Is there a way to post it on their website?

Jennifer, I just emailed the info to BRAT on their website so hopefully they will be able to get the word out. It would be AWESOME for BRAT to share in the Grant money.

Not to be a buzz killer, but there are a limited number of prizes given… we are a small population... and the competition includes autism, cancer, various child services... Not sure we have a chance.

Debra, my understanding is that all the nominees will some kind of cash. I figured every little bit will help and since the votes limited (most people only get 2 votes) .

Even if they only win $100 it would help. -
I'll share on the wimauma board and ask Brat to share on their board.
