I am guessing the young gal that bred multiple litters the last few years may be the breeder. All of my AK Bs are much older or tiny puppies now.

I see I'm way behind the times on this one - just heard from my vet in San Diego - she says he's already in his new foster home and she did an exam on him yesterday. Good news, hoping that the little guy finds THE home very soon! Terry

I am not sure if the SPCA even works with rescues but it would be good to give a contact in case she gets returned or if the new owners have any problems with her.

I wish I lived closer to this girl, I'd take her in a heartbeat - my house is probably too small though :(

I feel like people need to be just as careful when choosing a rescue as they are when choosing a breeder. Rescues have been found to be hoarders, to be breeders labelling their dogs as rescues as a marketing ploy, or like PETA, to kill 97% of animals they "rescue". The impression I got of this rescue was that it was not one I wanted to work with because they seemed to hold some extreme views. I am delighted to hear that I was wrong and that this is a good rescue. The situation with the "breeder" is horrible, and I am glad this girl is finally being cared for. I agree that the breeder has earned herself a place in you know where. After Estelle passed away while my MIL was in the process of trying to adopt her she is a little gun shy. It is amazing how attached you can get to an animal you haven't even met. -Nicole
