Beach walk

  • Yesterday Kipawa and I had quite a nice walk at one of the many beaches in the area. The weather held up for us - it wasn't raining nor was it too cold or windy. Kipawa was quite intrigued by the water at the shoreline, but he made sure to stand about 5 feet back from the tide line. :)

Once again, the area was filled with new adventures - the old logs on the beach were particularly fun, even to walk on - great practice for agility training. There were a few spills, as the logs were wet and a little slimy on top, but it didn't stop him from trying.

I enjoyed them, must b nice to live near a beach :)

cute pup obv arent they all

  • Great photos, Kipawa is a lucky boy!

  • Fran, I know your probably doing this, but I would suggest keeping treats in your pockets, small bits of jerky, or cheese, and when folks come to admire your b, ask them if they want to "treat" him.
Good socialization for him..hands bring only good things.

Sharron, thanks for the great idea! I do bring treats in my coat pocket, but hadn't thought of giving them to people we meet to give to Kipawa.

Very interesting meeting people along our walks - it is pretty easy to tell which ones to stop and talk to. I guess that is my radar and Kipawa's radar working in conjunction with one another.

  • Oh little puppies are so darn CUTE! Wonderful area he has to explore. I love the poem on the rock as well. Lucky little Kipawa - lucky mom too.

At this particular beach, there are quite a few rocks inscribed with various partial poems or eloquent thoughts. People can also pay for a bench as a tribute to a loved one. The beach has a wonderful feeling to it, a truly welcoming area for dogs and humans alike.

Thank you all so much! That is one of the nice thing when you sail a ship, every time we can explore a new nature and when we found a place like this, we can't wait to be there again soon!!! :D Ryan also loves nature, he is a true tree hugger, he wants to feel a tree and sometimes he gives a little kiss at that three :)

It soo sweet of Maya to jump in and "save" the princess from the evil water. Why Lilah might have - DIED from that nasty water stuff. Good job Maya.

Now we do have the time to spent time with the dogs on the beach. The main tourist season is over and the beaches, at least if you know where to go, are empty as far as your eyes can see. This is Basenji-Fun-Season ;-) They have so much fun charging the doves and running just for joy. Regards, Esther
