Pug Puppies Arriving Anyday

Off Topic
  • Good luck to mom and babies and the human also. Mom will do fine. When our Shiba had her only litter she was not sure as what to do and would not tear the bag off her first puppy. Spice wanted to hide it in the blankets I was happy we were there to help her. For some reason she had her smallest puppy first and middle size in middle and her largest was last he was big. She did ok after we helped her with the first one. Good luck let us all know. 4th of July could really be banging and going.

  • After seeing these pics.. I'm sooo happy I'm not a pregnant pug.. :D :D

    She's huge.. ;)

Fingers crossed everything goes well! And don't forget to post pics!!

  • Hope everything goes well for Gracie, she looks fit to burst!
Can't wait to see pics of the babies.

  • There's a Pug that comes to the dog park and he so friendly. Buddy tries to play with him but Buddy's too overwhelming and the Pug hides between my legs and looks up at me with tail wagging.

  • I cross my fingers too, and I hope it will not be as hot weather as it is here when she delivers her puppies.
Abou tthe size of the puppies, I hope they will not be too big, my basenji was hughe her second litter too, but had 4 puppies, they were big but not abnormal big for a basenji newborn. My ibizan hound was also big, but I never thought she would have 11 puppies of quite a big size for such a big litter ( 490-570 grams )….so you might be surprised ;)

are you going for a natural labour or a CS ?

  • Wondering too, is it usual to do a C-Section for Pugs? I know they have problems whelping….

  • Wow, and I thought my tummy was big! well it is but this little girl is sure caring a load.
    Best wishes for all.

  • Aw, she looks like she's ready to burst. lol Best wishes for a smooth successful whelping! Can't wait to see the little smooshy puppies.

  • Thanks for all the replies! :D

We are going to see how it goes naturally and will opt for a C-section if she has problems. Gracie's mum has had two litters naturally so hopefully Gracie will too. The scanner said that one pup was a fair bit bigger than the other three so we just have to hope that she has that one ok. If she has that first with no problems the others should be easy, we just dont want that one to get stuck!!

  • We''ll keep our fingers crossed for gracie.. she looks so huge!!!!

  • I hope it all goes well for Gracie, lots of pics please!

We met some adorable pug pups at Blackpool on the caravan park.

  • She seems to have settled back down now after giving me a little scare yesterday (i was sure she was going to have them last night - on her birthday!!) so maybe she will go to her due date!

My mum is looking at buying a caravan for the shows next year so she can make a weekend of it for each of them and take all the dogs along… So i keep getting dragged around Caravan showrooms...!! Will be nice to know some people at the caravan parks for if we do go though! Maya will love it im sure.

  • You will love caravanning (the dogs will too), my daughter and I spent many a weekend trawling caravan showrooms! You will meet lots of people, you don't need to know anyone, I should think it would be good for you with the different breeds. I have found that people will offer help, especially when I am on my own, a lovely man with a Winnebago helped us put up the awning in the wind!

We met someone who had 16 Siberian huskies, a GSD and a Lurcher with them also someone with 10 Chi's, the Pugs owners also had Papillons and French bulldogs, you wouldn't believe there were hundreds of dogs on site, it was so quiet.

  • My dogs LOVE the caravan. They get excited in the car as they can see 'the big white thing' following us! :)

  • We did have an Airstream for all of three months in our driveway. We never used it, ended up selling it on Ebay..one day though I want one again..it looks like so much fun, especially for the kids and dogs. on day..
Keeping my fingers crossed Gracie is doing OK.

  • Aww they babies are adorable Jess:D

    Did everything go ok?

  • Yes, she popped them out with no problems, cleaned them and everything, she was really good!

I managed to miss the whole thing (ooops!) as my phone died last night and i didnt realise, so my mum was leaving me voice and text messages i didnt pick up til this morning lol!!

These little fatties are doing sooooooo well. Im used to ACD babies losing weight in the first couple of days, then gaining, doubling their weight around day 10ish… Not with these guys, no weight loss, all have doubled their weight by day 6 ... Mumma Crystal doesnt even look like she has a lot of milk at all, clearly what she does have is pretty damn good though !!! Its interesting that for this litter I didnt feed Crystal puppy food at all during her pregnancy, as I have done for all my previous litters, and the pups were good weights at birth, and are now gaining so well ;)... Certainly food for thought, (pardon the pun :D)...

Well, bless them. Animals are resilient and they will go about their lives as if nothing is wrong with them. And there will always be those dear people who will lovingly care for little creatures like this. However, I agree with other posters who have indicated that the bitch NEEDS to be spayed. Whether it is a DNA problem or the bitch doing this to the newborns, spaying needs to be done to ensure this doesn't happen again.

Yes Rita Jean and Lenora, she's Cavalier King Charles. She was realy good for us, she had a bit of a play but slept most of the night. Tom our cat was realy kind to her but unfortunately Jerry wasn't and gave her a swipe. I felt awful as i didn't see it coming and she's such a sweet little thing. Can't believe the difference in getting a Basenji pup and this one. They just decided to get a Dog, searched for a pup and went to get her. I have to say that i think our way is best for the Dog.

I just don't get it! He is allowed to keep 500 dogs??? What is with that??? What an awful person to make those dogs live like that. I so hope the dogs are able to be rehomed. Poor little things.

Hey my Basenji boy Gibby is startled everytime he sees a mirror. I really think sometimes he has no idea what he looks like as he sees more humans than other dogs! Lord knows somedays I am sure I will look over and see him walking across the room on the 2 hind legs as he so curious about things above him…I do know that is one handsome Grandson and CONGRATS!
