    Would anyone on this list have a dog registered with this registry? I am trying to find out which breeders are using it? I know of two commercial breeders in MO that are. These breeders sell for the petstore market.

    AKC [American Kennel Club] and CKC [Canadian Kennel Club] are the reputable registries in North America. Some use the UKC [United Kennel Club] in addition to AKC/CKC, but generally that is just to show UKC.

    If one isn't using AKC/CKC, I would question WHY…

    and ensure by CKC they mean the Canadian Kennel Club and not the Continental Kennel Club, that's another not so reputable registry.

    I can't listen to that, it would wake my girl up and well... I'm not into a "sing along" just now. ;) I will say that many canines howl and yodel and bay (at the moon, whenever a fire truck passes, etc.). I'm not certain that any one breed is distinctive enough to have a sound all their own, but many a proud owner would probably assert so.

    @mvdperez We run the air all the time, keeping it under 70. It's cooling off some so he's fine. She is under the covers because we keep it cold. He goes out early morning, quick midday, then longer in the evening. We keep his coat stripped down. I have no idea if it will get cold enough to get a winter coat. It's not generally COLD here.

    This is DEFINITELY a Basenji Chi mix and NOT shiba. (Only the example of a Shiba is a Shiba for those who might be confused by the example pics.) Basenji has the white feet, white tip on tail AND the white spot at the nape, and the curled tail. does he/she "talk" ? My chi Basenji has an unusual talk that everyone loves. Some who know more about basenjis - a couple in the neighborhood who have 2 - call it the Basenji yodel.
