@lisastewart: Trog chewed on my ankles and wrists for a good nine month despite giving him as much play as I could to wear him out, Cara is extremely mouthy. She liked to hold my arm or hand in her mouth as she went to sleep, sometimes creepily rubbing her tongue against me. She has always done play biting but she has the softest mouth ever. It is rare for her to ever put enough pressure to make a indention even in her wildest playing. I am okay with that. I had one dog before her, a Rottie, who wanted to hold you. I didn't let on lead, but did while just sitting with her. But I'd look out to see Larry leading her down the road, him holding the leash, her holding his hand in her mouth. I figured her leading him was okay.

That's great that all of you can run with your Bs. They love to run and it always seemed like a natural and fun thing to do together. Alas, I tried and tried, but Spencer would dart right in front of me and trip me up. I hate to say it, but I finally just gave up before I took a nasty fall. Spencer would never even heel, much less run quietly beside me. He obeyed almost everything else, so I learned to accept our limitations.

My Basenjis agree that leather is much nicer!! They eat them asap.!! So far the metal parts have escaped! Any one would think I don't feed them!! However I think that there is nothing nicer than a good leather lead, I keep mine for best or when I don't have too many dog out together so that I can't watch them all at the same time. I use a 2cm for walking and a 1cm for showing.

She sits on command and has for at least a few weeks….but when it comes to heading out for her walk....that's where she lights up! Anyway, I will keep trying and trying. Thanks for the advice Brenda
