Indiana?

  • What the heck? Does Tad know this bitch is in rescue? Kelli, have you contacted, him…if not I will let him know.

  • I have no idea how she ended up there, but yes I already contacted him and confirmed that he knows now. Sounds like he didn't know. I'm surprised as it says she's tattooed.

Last I had heard of Gwen, Tim leased her a couple years ago to breed to Pistol. When I saw the link I immediately knew who it was. Went off to find a picture to confirm it. lol

  • Well, hopefully he will contact BRAT and let them know, that way if the tatoo was ignored or missed, the contact person will know to check next time.

  • If her tatoo was done by the same person that did Tayda's tattoo it would be hard to miss!

  • @BasenjiByTheBay:

Bit of a trek, but I know you like the brindle. Pretty girl!

So little space, so many b's…:o

    Oh, I want her.
Cant have her. But she is just so pretty and sweet looking.

  • Well they certainly didn't miss the tattoo, it says right on the BRAT page that she has one. And I thought Tad used the AKC # so it should have easily led them back to him as the breeder. I don't know who did Tayda, but probably the same. Denise Vertrees did Gwen, she is a big volunteer for BRAT too. She moved recently, but that was after Tayda was done.

Tad must have placed her in a pet home later. Apparently they weren't willing to pay for the shipping to return her. (which I know is in his contracts) So they must have dumped her in rescue? Anyways he has contacted BRAT and hopefully will be bringing her home soon!

Andrew, if that's the case, then she will only be a couple hours from you. :)

  • Kelli…thank you for contacting Tad and helping get Gwen back to the right home.

Andrew, could this be the brindle girl you are looking for as a friend to Shango. I checked the ofa website and she has been fully health tested.

  • Isn't that just one of the wonderful things about this forum, the way everyone keeps an eye out for everyone else's pups? So glad Gwen is headed home…to wait for Andrew to pick her up(?). :p

I wish I could! I really really wish I could!

  • Andrew, Tad is really looking forward to hearing from you if you want to talk about Gwen. :) You can find his contact info on his website. He is in Southern Indy, just outside of Louisville.

Ha, ha, ha…Andrew, not much pressure from any of us about adopting this girl. :D:D:D

  • Suggest that you touch base with the Hoosier Basenji club - fastest way to find other b's.

  • I have Basenji owners who live on the East side of Indianapolis. Just off RT 40 near 465.They are very nice people & have 2 females who are a year old. Very friendly & playful.
I could hook you up if you live near them.

Sounds great! We're on the North Side near Fishers so it's quite a bit away but maybe we can meet up!

@shermanfive said in Basenji National event in Arizona: I am looking at attending the event being held in Tuscon Arizona Nov 2019. As a soon to be Basenji owner is this an event for observers ? Is there a cost? If I can only attend 2 days what are the "must see" events What day is the November event exactly? To be honest, it looks very well.

Found this thread and figured I would respond. I have an almost 1yr old Male (27 November) and would be interested in meeting up with other Basenji owners and their dogs. I live near Quantico and quite honestly don't see any other Basenjis ever. Will drive to most parks in the NOVA area.

@laurieannechen There is a SoCal Basenji meetup this Saturday, June 20, 2020 from 9 AM- 12 noon, Laguna Beach Dog Park www.lagunabeachdogpark.com Here is a link to the Facebook Event: https://www.facebook.com/events/359744554994753/ Join the Facebook group "Orange County (CA) Basenji Meet Ups" https://www.facebook.com/groups/942444349188499/ They are trying to set up meetups at least once a month. With the COVID-19 virus meetups were on hiatus but now that some dog parks are opening up meetups for Basenjis are starting up again. I live in San Diego so I really have to think about driving 1.5 hours with 2 senior Basenjis. Have fun! Lynn Bilotta
