    What's his weight?

He weighs 10.5 kilo (23,2 lbs). I love how mucsulair he is! At the show in Zaandam I heard the judges saying to eachother: "He's soo musculair!!" :D
    He gets too much exercise…

  • I love this picture of him, he looks so proud!

  • Yeah, I've been told that basenji's look like they are privileged because they sit like they rule the place.

He's sooo nice and lean. You know he could take care of himself and scare off whatever he needs to. I could see him as one of the ones that would chase after the coyotes and geese.

Yes, he definitely thinks he's king of the world..

  • Perfect caption! And accurate too!

  • If he had 2 legs and was old enough to get into the local bar, he'd be the biggest 'playa' in town!!:D (ie..Handsome, self assured, a different girl every night,….)

Don't tell the girls he's really a mama's boy and an obedient cuddle bug!! ;) Thanks for the great pic, Janneke

10.5? ahh that's very good! I thought he should be someting like 11 or 11,5 kilo :D
I like the muscles too very much, but he don't have to get much more than this :D You then have to enter him with the staffords  hahaha

Speeking of Staffords.. Tillo has a nine month old English stafford mix (I think x Whippet) as a 'girlfriend' (her name is Angel :D) Well.. believe me.. Tillo isn't even close!!! He looks like a skinny boy next to her!

  • Handsome boy. He looks very regal in this photo. Very nice.

@iris-shuman said in I would like you to meet "The 'Marvel'-ous Prince T'Challah" a/k/a Prince: Iris was born in December too Not much of a surprise when you think about it ! Basenjis in the Northern Hemisphere come in to season through September/October/November and whelp their litters November/December/January. A great many litters' arrivals cause the turkey to be put back in the oven on Christmas Day while the puppies are delivered ! Decrease the size of the photo and you will be able to show Iris to all of us. And do as Tanza suggests to Daureen - get her Fanconi tested.

Not to brag (ok, maybe a little)….when we went to get professional photos done B wouldn't stop looking directly into the camera. They tried to get some natural photos but, nope, he'd immediately look back into it as soon as they were about to take it. The whole time he did that. They said they had never had that problem with dogs before and were pretty impressed by him. The problem I have is taking a photo where I can actually see his eyes and not the eye film.

@Kipawa: When watching the first video, it seemed that Loki would only go as deep as he still could have his feet on the ground. But on the second video, it does look like he is swimming with the black dog. :) He likes to stay where he can still touch the bottom, but will swim out farther sometimes if a dog he is playing with goes deeper. We also live on a small lake and though he's gone in the dog park lake without reservation for months, he's always acted like a typical B with our lake, even when chasing the ducks out of the yard. Until today. My father-in-law and husband were tossing in bread and Loki's old kibble for the ducks and fish and wouldn't ya know it? In Loki goes, chasing ducks and eating the bread and kibble! And he went out farther than he's ever gone in the dog park lake, actually swimming out, but of course the ducks were faster ;)

Thanks…She is a doll. She is extremely active and keeps me hoping because she does not have siblings.... I had her at the park yesterday and we ran and ran. She was so tired last night I couldn't get her out of the crate to go outside. Finally...I wore her out.

We have almost 8 inches of snow right now. It's blowing, drifting and more snow is falling. Both Duke & Daisy dashed right out into the snow this morning - frolicking all the way in circles. They act like it's the best day ever. They were out for at least 10 minutes - when they stood still and started lifting their paws up and down, one by one. Since - then they've been out 3-4 times, dashing all the way for just a few minutes each time. We have winter blizzard storm warnings all day. Glad it is Sunday. I think I'll put my Christmas tree up and get it decorated.
