• This is awesome!

    Interesting story, I think…..

Did you rescue Leo from America's Basenji Rescue in Indianapolis? If so, we saw him on petfinder and had been e-mailing about him just before you did. Rebecca and Keith were talking to us about him and then you adopted the little guy!

It's interesting how these things work out: we went and visited their pack and fell in love with another guy, (Sam was his name then) and that's how we got Shango….so thank you for adopting Leo before we could, otherwise we wouldn't have Shango!

    🙂

  • Transformation from sweet sleepy basenji to evil dog 😃 😃

  • I have to really laugh at that last picture… it is a classic and should be given to anyone that has a Basenji and is thinking of adding one to the house...ggg... and of course the noise that goes with it!

We did get Leo from America's Basenji Rescue! I don't remember Shango from when we were there, but there were so many b's running around I had enough trouble trying to keep track of Leo.

I agree, anybody who has two can hear the noises that came along with that picture:D Nexa started to grumble in about the third picture until she finally enough!

  • Jazzy's Mom once referred to the noise as "tasmanian devil".

    Perfect.

  • OMG - those shots could have come straight from our house.:D Too funny!

We call it tasmanian devil too. In fact, my husband just saved an old Bugs Bunny cartoon for me featuring the tasmanian devil couple. Kiss, snarl, kiss, snarl. Yup. Sounds just like Fiji and Bongo…and obviously Nexa and Leo.

    Small world 🙂

Shango's name was Sam and they originally weren't adopting him out…he was actually their pet basenji rather than a foster but when we went to go look at the others, Sam bonded to us pretty quickly (came and sat at our feets, allowed us to pet/hold him...etc) so we asked if he was up for adoption, they told us not, and then shortly after considering it, realized we could give him a good home...so really, he chose us!

Are you in Indianapolis? I've never met a basenji other than Shango and I'd love to have Shango meet Leo and Nexa

  • OMG i LOVE the last picture This is how i feel when my Submariner husband wakes up at 4 in the morning moving around and waking me!! hehehee

  • 😃 Those are some great pictures, they really tell the story!!! Makes me want another one "tehe," my husband would kill me…;)Not to mention, the two cats would commit kitty suicides!!!

  • OMD! That's the biggest bean bag type of pillow I've ever seen. Those pups must be in heaven! Well maybe not heaven. Heaven would mean the main human bed. BUT those pups look like they have a great comfort right there. Great pixs!
