• Does your guy or gal throw temper tantrums?

Ours does, if you don't do what he wants and he is tired he will howl, stamp his feet, throw him self on the floor and writhe around. Usually this ends in me standing there saying "Ok finish up and we can talk" and him laying on the floor looking at me like "COME ON THAT WAS SERIOUSLY PERSUASIVE GIVE ME WHAT I WANT" and then he comes over and does what I asked him.

Does anyone else's B do things like this?

  • How old is your b?

  • 7 months and 1 day

  • Get her into a gentle obedience class.
It will work wonders for you both.
    also, check into lure coursing.
The b's love it and it will send you home with one pooped out puppy!

  • We did the obedience classes and most days he is excellent, to the point of disbelief. We did basic obedience so whats the next step, should we go to intermediate or try something more specific? We were also going to do agility would that help?

  • Oh, all of the above..
Keep her busy and she will reward you with good behavior.

  • My little b only throws a temper tantrum when its time to go outside and its raining. I got him a jacket which helps a little but god forbid the front steps have puddles. He digs his feet in and chews the leash. It isn't as bad as when I first got him though and I belive that the puppy classes have helped.

  • the only real temper tantrum that happens in our house is kiya trying to push the envelope with us. She can really test ya. You tell her no but she apparently thinks no doesn't apply to her. LOL
Yet a thump on the nose…she could care less. If she sees something she wants she will get it no matter what cost.
I learned that this is a "tri" thing. My red and white boy has never exhibited this type of behavior. He has always gotten a clue.
If kiya gets mad she proves her point by being destructive. She will dig, pull at her dolls and try to destroy them or even try to put holes in blankets. You really need eyes in the back of your head when she is around. She literally waits till you are not looking and then will become destructive....yet I love the girl. hahahahaha

Ruby's red & white and she is relentless when she wants something…she will not stop if her mind is set on something. About the only think that works if she won't take the hint of "no" is to redirect her thoughts to something like a game or training. She doesn't throw a temper tantrum, but she will let out a heavy sigh if I interfere with what she has in her plans. So, no, I don't think it is just a tri thing...maybe it is a girl thing?:D

  • It must be a girl thing. Daisy, my tri-mix is relentless when Duke is laying in a place she wants to be. She'll come over to me or my husband, give us her intent look, moan and groan, then go back to where Duke is and moan and groan. Often Duke will give a warning grrrrr at her, she keeps on and on until Duke gets up in a huff and grunt to let Daisy have her way.

  • My tri girl is a bad litle thing too! If i dont give her attention she opens all the trash cans (metal) and digs out qtips, shes knows she cant have them but she knows that when i hear the trash can i come running and she gets mamas attention…lil`snot
she also nugdges me HARDif i dont pet her....will bite me pant leg throughout the whole house.... jumps onto everytable top, my vanity, the computer desk and just KNOCKS stuff off..... when i not paying her mind. its her way of demanding attentionand what she wants.

ITs so hard not to laugh!!!!!isnt it!!!!

Ive tried smacking her hiney.... but we think shes "kinky" she seems to enjoy a smack more than dislike it...

the best disaplinary ..... THE WATER BOTTLE... its like a gun. she'll stop in her tracks!!!! lol

  • I would not recommend using hands for any type of physical disapline.
Water bottles and positive rewards work better.
It does sound like she is needing more exercise.
    A tired b is a good b.
That would be my suggestions..walk her until she is too tired to do much more than nap.
