    No idea, sometimes with mixes it's so hard to tell what the parentage is. I do think that your dog's head is a bit more refined than many of the pit mixes i've seen.

    I agree with the others that although he seems to have Basenji in him - his head is def. not Basenji. As for the leg I'd have it amputated if it troubles him - He'll cope with 3 legs I'm sure, but certainly consult a specialist first. Please keep us updated.

    @Maca: There is no fanconi test outside USA.. just on Europe and by mail from USA. The fanconi test is by mail EVERYWHERE. It isn't done in a vet clinic. We go online and order it, so ANYONE ANYWHERE can order it. It is easily done even in remote places. It might take a while to get the cheek swab in the mail, but doing this will save heartache later. Good for you Maca for making a wise choice!

    Look at the BRAT mixes: http://basenjirescue.org/DOGS-MIXES/Default.htm Check out Tia. I think that's what you are looking for. :) Then look at Tyson and Shiloh. Not the right coloring, but similar build and coat….

Looks like she will be spending time at the Doggie resort or with friends while we go out with Chase (our Puggle who loves the water) [image: 47b7d831b3127cce855c4a01cfe700000026108CYs2jZmzbg] What I love about this photo is that she has this look on her face that makes me think that she is begging DH to save her and take her home. Do they just have them at PetSmart?
