    My little angel, Miss Scarlett O'Hara turned 2 on Februray 15. She got a brand new harness (I found a really good brand, LUPINE, that is completely covered in case anything happens to the harness, even if she eats it like she tends to do with everything!), a small party with my old roommates american dingo who turns 2 next week, and a bunch of new chew toys. Unfortunately my camera bit the dust before I could get the pictures on here and of course they can't replace it:( . She had a great birthday and she loves her new toys!:D

    Sounds like she had a good time with her American Dingo friend. I bet she loves all of her new toys.

    Sorry to hear about your camera, maybe you can take some "after party" pictures of her with her new harness once you get a new one.

    I love the Lupine collars, I just gave up on them for Zahra because Chase kept eating them off her neck and I had to keep replacing them. I do still have one for Chase with the cross bones and dog paw and DH bought him one that reminds me of green ivy.

    Scarlett thanks you all for the birthday wishes. She loves her harness. We are currently using those awful disposable cameras so hopefully i will be able to get some post birthday pictures up soon. She looks so great in her purple harness, but she rarely gets to go out in just the harness lately casue it has been unusually cold for this area the last few weeks, so she gets to wear her football hoodie. This week had been great for her though the local schools are out and that means lots of playmates for her in the apartment complex. Most of the kids come by and play with her if she's out…. she loves it and i know it makes my life easier especially since I was just diagnosed with the flu :( .

    Just like us humans, dogs do not like every dog they meet. Especially in tight spaces it can get a bit growly at times, so I always look for enough space for all dogs involved to move freely and express their body language. Being and staying calm yourself will also help a lot.

    I'm afraid If I do decide to get another I won't have a chance to introduce them beforehand as it Will probably be a puppy I bring from the US.. I doubt there will be a problem since she will be a young puppy…

    I have a very good friend at work who lives somewhat in the country and has lots of what she calls "barn cats" around her. When she first came to work at my office she had 2 cats, hers and her mother's, who had come to live with her, since then she has "adopted" 7 more from her yard. She started feeling sorry for them and started putting food out there for them. Her husband has finally said "no more". She is a "good" cat owner as she has spayed/neutered each cat she has adopted and keeps them inside. Now she has become involved in rescue of the rest. If she thinks it doesn't really have a home she will try to catch it, take it to the vet for a check and spaying/neutering, try to get it socialized with humans and other cats, then try to get it adopted out. She does all this with a little bit of help from a rescue organization and a break on price from her vet but she is still out of pocket quite a bit and I respect her all the more for her commitment to the betterment of the lives of these forgotten animals.:) We all wish there were more responsible cat, and dog owners, for that matter, out there like her.

    @PhocoenaGirl: Jazzysmom, your Keoki looks exactly like my guy. I think Beegin (and Keoki too) look thicker and broader than some of the other b's I've seen on this site. I don't know what that is called in breeder terms. Is there some kind of scale that you measure for that??? Not that your b's don't look super cute though regardless of height. I love the pic where Keoki is getting measured and Jazz is trying to squeeze in behind and get attention too:D That is just body type (thicker and/or broader)… there is no measurement for that... some B's are just heavier boned then others... that is why it is difficult to just go by lbs for weight.... For looking at a dog for proper weight, you should be able to see a "waist" which is from the end of the ribcage to the beginning of the hip... You should be able to easier feel your dogs ribs and when running you should be able to see a slight the rib outline... Note on this picture of Crystal you can see the "waist" and a nice tuck up [image: crystal_hayward.jpg]

    I think it was Mirtillo that there was a video of playing with coke bottles…Jack got one down off the counter the other day and I started to let him keep it.....but then I thought better. I don't want him to think that if he gets something off of the counter I will let him keep it. Plus, there are lots of bottles I would rather he not get into (Finlandia, Jack Daniels, Jameson's). I think I will start letting him play with those (empty plastic bottles). They are the cheapest toy ever! Duke- I'm really embarrassed that I got you and Phoenix mixed up- really sorry....things are going well, though, hanks for asking. Jack hasn't been able to come down lately because we have been sanding and painting, and we didn't want for him to a) breathe in nasty fumes and sawdust and things that are bad or b) get a lovely little noseprint in the middle of a freshly painted wall! LOL! Moving day is May 24th. Jack is going to stay at a friend's house, to avoid the trauma of him having to see us move all of his things out of the apartment.

    Yes,,,,I know I need to change my name,,,,,,,thank goodness the "kids" havent seen it yet or they may think I only love two of the three of them,,,,,ha ha. Also, we have thought about fostering a BRAT dog. I am a teacher so I have the summers free. We decided to wait until after the spring though to sign up because my son is a senior and I am afraid the spring will be to crazy to try to help a BRAT dog that may have some issues. However, we would be open to the transporting. BTW , Senji, we are going to the Northwest part of IL (about 25 miles from Iowa) soooooooooooooo if you want us to make Czar our first transport that can be arranged!!! :)
