Kathy, I sure didn't mean to indicate it isn't a godsend or fantastic! Of course it is. I just meant… well as the Arabs say, Trust in G-d but tie your camel. Get the testing, use it to help guide breeding, retest if necessary, but keep doing the strip test. It's an easy if annoying process that protects your dog against testing errors or human errors.
OFA and my results

I was very anxious waiting to the results to come back. When I adopted Uzie, I was told I would get his AKC papers etc…nothing. So without a registered name and unknown sire/dam,
I went ahead anyway. had to find out if he was clear or carrier or affected....! Well, happy to say, the money spent was worth knowing he is 'CLEAR/NORMAL FOR FANCONI SYNDROME' He was three years old Nov 2012. Just had to share this. Please, everyone, do the test so you will never have guilt later on if the diagnosis is ever given later on! Thanks to this forum, I had the knowledge!!!!! -
I am sorry they jerked you around on the testing results/akc info but very glad you tested and know he is clear.
