American Sighthound Field Ass.-LureCoursing

  • First Basenji's

I know most of the community may already know about the ASFA, but I just thought I'd post this for an FYI and general interest reading. I live near Ocala, and am looking forward to attending at the end of the month. Click on FUN STUFF and Photo Albums-really neat info; however, they really play up on all the good Basenji attitudes, they missed some reality stuff! just thought it funny as there are so many that break the mold of any breed profile! ENjoy!

  • have fun. I ran at the ASFA trial in Brooksville when we were on vacation in Dec and loved the field, it was gorgeous, hoping to go back again in a few years for another vacation.

  • Hmmm….obedient by nature and gentle as a kitten...

Lure coursing is something I'd love to try with Loki, I may check it out since Ocala isn't too far away.

I know, funny eh? Well, I may not bring Uzie the first day, just want to take a look-see. Let me know if you make it over there!

went to your website, how in the heck do you have time with all your furkids in training for all that 'fun' stuff-congrats on their titles, looking pretty!!!! Uzie likes the knee area for bedtime with us as well!

  • We have a lot more time now that they are done showing. We do the fun stuff in the Nov-April time frame when its cool enough to race and course. If I'm lucky we get a weekend off every 6 weeks during that time frame. In the summer we stay home and train for indoor sports like rally, barn hunt and agility.
