Lela and Binti hit the beach in a big pack

Lela and Binti's first long beach walk yesterday with about 12 B's on the North sea board, west of Amsterdam.
They had a wonderful time - even Binti, who usually tires easily from canine interaction kept running and playing all the way (taking occasional time outs to snack on sea weed!).
We were very moved and proud to see that even with all the excitement, L and B kept coming back to us regularly to check, or making eye contact from a distance.

What a great slideshow! I laughed with delight when I saw all those R/W B's!!! wonderful! You should be proud that they all looked back at you regularly, good feeling I know! Bravo!

  • loved watching all the vids and looking at the photos :)

  • Fabulous - loved the 'chain sniff', and the optimism of trying to get them lined up for a photo (especially emphathised with the guy on the left whose B is trying to pretend he doesn't belong to him…)

Thank you. We were surprised too, that they were having so much fun in the snow. Not one time did they whine or complain. It was just below freezing with no wind, so pretty comfortable weather. And we didn't go out longer then 90 minutes.

That doesn't surprise me about Chafuko…I know basenjis have great poker faces but there is something innate about some dogs eyes that shows they are windows to the soul. Unfortunately, my little Oakley isn't a window but a brick wall (lmao), but I love him nonetheless. My first dog had that look and he too could sense my childhood seizures and was always by my side when I was sick. I usually find that look in the older ones but even then it's few and far between.

@Shaye's: I love the poem on the rock as well. Lucky little Kipawa - lucky mom too. At this particular beach, there are quite a few rocks inscribed with various partial poems or eloquent thoughts. People can also pay for a bench as a tribute to a loved one. The beach has a wonderful feeling to it, a truly welcoming area for dogs and humans alike.
