    martingales- only thing I can use that my boy wont slip out of…that, and if you are used to a choke, this is considered a choke with safety. I am not a fan of collars on all the time due to possible strangulation (i crate my boy)....so I feel the need to put a disclaimer that a martingale does have a "loop on the collar that may catch on something

    Fran, I do know tags do wear out, but these look good to me. So, give them a try and lets compare info. I don't leave anything on my dogs when they are home, but put the tags on the collars/harness when we travel. Course, the b's are micro chipped. But with Wheat, looking so "unique" I don't want someone to think she is a wild dog.. I put on mine, REWARD on one side, my phone number on the second side and the word microchipped. They say put the dogs name on the tag, but as we switch collars/harness so much, doesn't seem important.

    Congo has his collar on in the house unless we are sleeping. I have two roommates and I am always afraid that he might zip out the door when they do. His collar is always on the loosest notch and he could easily get out of it if it gets caught on something.

    Thanks for all the help. I got the martingale one for now. Maybe I'll get the hound collar later, but I figured I'd get the kind I already know and swear by.

    this reminds me of a story.. my best friends mom was taking her dog (rhodesian ridgeback mix who is less than a year old) and her brothers dog (a 1-2 year old yellow lab) on a walk in a field behind the house off lead. and the two dogs were running around and ran straight into her knee.. and she couldnt put weight on it and used my best friends crutches ( shes a soccer player and has lots of knee problems and surgeries) that were laying around.. that was thanksgiving break.. during christmas.. she went to the doctors and her leg was BROKEN!
