Dog sitter needed, NYC, New Jersey area

    I'm looking for a sitter who can board my 9-year-old basenji when I go away. (I used to have a friend who stayed in my home for this, but he can't do it anymore). Poco is sociable and used to cats; he's not crated. I'd like to find a long-term solution – start with an experimental overnight, and if all goes well, have him board whenever I go on vacation, or for long weekends.

    Unfortunately, the only think photos would show is black dots in paddocks of green lucerne. I have tried taking photos but without a zoom lens it's impossible. The paddocks are about 200 yards by 600 yards. Sorry. But I did see a fox sneaking across a paddock today at 3pm in the afternoon. The dogs must have been asleep! I called them but then the fox bolted, too late for the sleepy dogs.

    Yes, I already have a message in with my vet's office, but I figured I would have more of a chance to find a basenji-crazed sitter in the forums! @sharronhurlbut: Have you called your vet and asked for a pet referal re this service? That would be the first place I would ask.

    @Natalplum: Shannon~Thank you so much for the offer. You are an amazing and caring person for even offering. It means so much to me and my family. Without any hesitation you would drive half way and meet me. This alone is an amazing act. I will never forget your kindness. My husband's cousin has offered to take our B and he has another dog which would help. Val Hey no problem. Glad you could find someone you know and who is closer.     I leave the radio on for EL D while I'm gone at work – not because it calms him down but because I don't want him going bonkers because he's hearing the squirrels making noise outside :) He generally sleeps while I'm gone.

    hahaha jazzy is a bed hog! she looks sooooo peaceful. they have a great knack for finding the softest place to lay.
