• Fabulous pics!!!
I would love to see a video of Tillo when he 'ran his own course', I imagine funny too.

Your jumps look high; when I did agility with Nicky years ago, I don't think her jumps were but 12 inches, maybe 18, she could "hop" over them without the running start Tillo demonstrates so beautifully!

  • Wow!! Stunning photos and also a stunning performance, really!!! Imagine the work you put in vs. the work someone with their border collie (which I love!) put in!!! Thanks for the encouragement!

  • Houston

Amazing pictures..I don't know if I have any favorites 'cause they are all soooo good..
Love how you share him with us….thank you.

  • wonderful pics! can't wait to see the video as i am very interested in how european agility differs from the us agility. clearly tillo has to jump higher than our dogs do. in AKC agility dogs from 14-18 inches tall (shoulder height) jump 16 inches. there is also an option of jumping one jump height lower. your a frame looks lower, or maybe you're really tall. I think the akc aframe height is 5 1/2 feet tall. (clearly we don't do metric here, and my brain is fuzzy, so i can't translate that for you) it is even taller in usdaa agility. however i've also read that many of the courses are harder as eu agility has a lot of sending the dog to the backside of a jump, etc. but in the us we have a lot of tunnel under the aframe/dogwalk, which you dont? do we get more pics from Sunday? thanks for sharing!!!

Thank you! Yes, it's really funny to see him run his own course. He doesn't do one tunnel.. Nooo.. tunnels, A-frames, dogwalks, jumps.. everything.. until he thinks: Hey… where did mom go..? She normally runs somewhere near me"

The jumps are indeed high for Tillo. We have two agility organizations in the Netherlands. Following the rules of Cynophilia, Tillo is a large, because he's higher than 43 cm at the withers. He has to jump 65 cm  The other organization has other classes.. Tillo is a medium there (40-50 cm at withers) and has to jump 55 cm. That's the height he's jumping in these pics, because this was Cynophilia debutant height. So for the official (Cyno) matches they have to go up another 10 cm!

The A-frame was lower than normal, because Tillo competed in debutant class. I don't know the official height of the A-frame.. And I'm not that tall.. gg.. only 1.72 m 😉

We also have tunnels under A-frames etc, but, lucky for us.. they don't make it too hard in debutant class.. And I don't know how it is at the official matches, but at the training we do practise those jumps from the backside a lot.. BF didn't make pics of the other dogs, but my trainer makes lots of pics at agility matches. You can find them here: http://curlie.net/gallery/

I'll upload the video to YT, but it's not an official run. It was a game, so 4 tunnels and 4 jumps.. Maybe you can find some YT vids of Dutch agility matches?

  • okay, so 55cm is almost 22 inches, which is what Diggie was jumping in USDAA many, many years ago. 65cm is 25 1/2 inches - that's a LOT to jump especially for a heavier built breed.

  • that looks like a lot of fun! in nadac, there is a tunnelers game, but it is JUST tunnels. the first time i tried it with Digital, on the 3rd tunnel he was like "really? another tunnel??" but it was okay b/c tunnels are his favorite. (well, really i think the chute or closed tunnel is his real favorite)

  • ps - i wish i had 2 more tunnels, i'd try that pattern!

  • Wow, great to see him doing this!!!
    Makes me so jealous :D:D
