• Here is a short video of my dogs after the blizzard we had over the past two days. I had to shovel out a path from the garage side door because the patio door was snowed in. Nemo tried to get back in the patio door…I'm glad the audio wasn't on, I was dying laughing.

Now I need to shovel out the driveway.

  • Would it make you feel bad if I told you I had to turn the a/c on today? The house was a boiling 80+ degrees with the doors open. I keep wishing for some winter weather but NOT what you had. Poor basenjis.

    Buy vaporizers

  • The snow is beautiful, the dogs looked like they were having fun, till they really wanted IN!

Oh Linda, you just don't know how good you have it. Oh…. the thought of 80 degree weather.... perfect.... sigh...

  • Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo jealous…

I would LOOOOOOOOVE to have that sort of snow fall here, sadly, we are extremely lucky to get a little to stay on the ground, for an hour or two...

  • LOL well Linda I don't want YOUR weather, but I don't want mine (14 wind chill) either. But I would like snow.

Ideal to me… no hotter than 85 in summer, no colder than 25 in winter with NO FREAKING WIND CHILL, lol.

    Nice video!

  • Saba - you don't really want this kind of snowfall - it's hard work shovelling pathways for the dog. It didn't drift in my yard like Nemo's - just covered everything about 18 inches minimum and 4 feet in other places - no bare spots to go pee/poop. And you have make sure the dog can't just walk up and over the snow piles and get out of the yard. It is really pretty though.
The funny thing with the cold - I open the back door for Gossy to go do her business and she knows its really really cold and comes running back in as soon as she's finished. But she can't get it in her head that the cold is everywhere not just in the back yard. She wants to go for a walk and I get her all fixed up with her booties and jacket and me with all my gear and we leave the house by another door. Then we get maybe 20 feet down the driveway and the cold sinks in and she turns around.

  • I have to admit, it's quite entertaining to watch them do their business in the extreme cold like what we have. Alternating on their pads to avoid the cold ground (-8F this morning). I've never been able to get Kananga to wear boots, so he chooses to be stubborn.

At least they don't take their time out in this cold! 🙂

  • The video is great..! But oh my… good luck with getting your drive way 'snowless'...

  • What a pity we can't share our weather around like we can our Basenjis on this forum!

Mine do love the snow but can't stand the thaw. Even my oldie loves to walk in the snow and doesn't seem to niotice it's cold as well.

Yeah, I know, I think as a HUGE lover of all things snowy, I just felt soooo envious ;)…
