My name is Nataly, but Im called BaiBee.
I don't have a basenji at the moment but I hope that in 2012 a little black and white girl is born and want to live with me.
Instead I have a Chinese Crested Powder Puff at the moment but he wants a little sister to.When I don't work at the office I practise obediance and Weightpulling with the Chinese.

I am actually getting a little basenji puppy from Zahleka Kennels in Kv?num…on friday, my brother is bringing him over for us..
I bet a little black/white girl would love to have you and your Chinese Crested as a family..can't wait to hear how it goes throughout the years. -

Petra, I have lived i Gothenburg for little more than 6 months now but I'm moving back to Norrland i january. But I still going back 6 times a year to big dog gettogethers i Varberg.
Now I just have to learn everything I can and read a lot about the breed so the perfect little girl can move in during 2012 :)

Sounds like a plan…learn as much as you can, visit with breeders, unless you already have one picked out.
My parents both live in Gothenburg...and we used to have a summerhouse in Varberg..my father is from there...love that place in the summer.

No I don?t have any breeder at all picked out, No one breeds in V?sternorrland so in every case I have to travel to find my new friend.
I haven't stared to look at breeders jet because I don?t know what to look for jet haha.
I don't know what the parents need to be tested for and how a correct document of that test looks if it doesn't register in SKK.
And I can?t find any swedish forum eather so thats way I'm here :) -

lots of info available as well as links to all the breeders that follow certain SKK guidelines.
There are also guidelines available as to what diseases basenjis might be prone to..As far as health testing the more the merrier, in my opinion…but for sure Fanconi, eyes would be nice and hips are a plus....and remember ask questions, see if you can visit breeders and hang with them and their dogs..there are a few breeders in the middle and a little north but most of them are in the south it seems.

There are lots of great breeders in Sweden. And I can certainly recommend Elegant Elephant (although the kennel name isn't the greatest ;)) They are planning to breed their black and white girl next season… ;) www.elegantelephant.se

Welcome to the forum!
I had to chuckle a little when I got a mental picture of a cute little Chinese Crested doing weight-pulling. They look so delicate, one expects to see them lounging around on silk pillows eating bon-bons, not competing next to Malamutes and Rottweilers!
Hope your little Basenji arrives soon, I confess to a big weakness for black and whites.

Right now I just read a lot about the breed and has sent email to a few kennels that I like and has been recomended to talk to so I hope I have some more knowledge about the breed later.
