I just received the blue cover book by Veronica Tudor Williams. It is so cool. Loose in the back of the book is a black and white photo of a dog that appears to be red and white with unusual markings and an almost straight tail. Written on the back of the pic is Lady Ka and Ba $75. I looked the dog up in the Zande database and this dog is listed!! The date is 18 August 1952. Does anyone out there know whose dog this was?

Sometimes extreme hunger can be from hormones (thyroid even) or cancer.. At 15, not sure if knowing makes much difference. However, there are some meds to make him feel better and up to walking, which certainly would improve his quality of life.

My past Basenjis got alot of off leash time and I think that helped them in being well behaved. I have work to do with Buddy as he's very rambunctious and enthusiastic which makes off leash more difficult. He's calming down though.

My best friend's 2 German shepherds both sit in my lap when I go visit at their house. Not exactly a comfortable sit for me, but I love the dogs so I usually let them stay that way until I can't take the weight anymore.:eek: Seems to be a case of big dogs don't know they are big - small dogs don't know they are small. 🙂

I am a musician and I spend a lot of time reviewing music. This means I'll be sitting at my computer, headphones on listening to a song and unaware of the outside world. My girl sunshine knows that when the phone rings, I'm supposed to answer it. So when it rings and I'm on the computer with the headphones on, she'll run up to me and "bark" in her way and jump on me to alert me to the phone. She'll then run ahead of me to the phone and watch me as I answer it. She'll also alert me when the doorbell rings or someone in the household yells for me. This she learned all on her own. Dumb dog? Who are they kidding! (to CBS, here's a major rasberry call just for you! thhhhhhhhhhhhh)

When Cory and Jayden get into something special (in their eyes) that they suspect they aren't supposed to have, they go and hide in a chair so they can examine it and chew it in private. There is no "Let's go show Mom!". Often Cory will rat Jayden out. She will make such a fuss that I've learned to recognize her "tattling" ruckus. If I want to get on the computer, I have to secure them in the room with me or put them outside. If not, Jayden WILL find something for them to get into. He is tall for a basenji and I swear he can use his front paws like hands!
