    I just received the blue cover book by Veronica Tudor Williams. It is so cool. Loose in the back of the book is a black and white photo of a dog that appears to be red and white with unusual markings and an almost straight tail. Written on the back of the pic is Lady Ka and Ba $75. I looked the dog up in the Zande database and this dog is listed!! The date is 18 August 1952. Does anyone out there know whose dog this was?

    @scewbydoo One of our vet techs volunteers with the shelter where she was born. Her mom was labeled as Jack Russell. Her goofy nature makes me think Boxer mix, but who knows. The shelters down in S. TX aren't the most accurate at breed identification. I once had a shelter in San Antonio send me a picture of a brindle Basenji they wanted me to pull...it was a calico cat. Regardless of breed, Roxy is home.

    Cleopatra is 7 years old now. Her job is to press against me to keep me grounded and get me out of dark areas with people. She'll start licking to help me when I start stimming and get shaky. If the depression is bad she comes and sits near me and cries. Some days I can go without her but others she stays near me and goes where I go.

    I am wondering if my dog is a basenji or a basenji mix? We have had him since he was a puppy and was told he was a pomchi but I don't think he is. What do you all think?

    Yes Aglie, I remember meeting you and Dig, Jet and family! Dig thought the basenjis were all ruffians, but Jet joined them in a huge wet puddle. Funny about tris liking other tris, we have noticed that occasionally at the park, the reds will all be lying together and the tris will all be together as well. Silly dogs!

    My mum has one of these, though a bit different.A good friend of hers, sadly no longer with us of the Taysenji Basenjis brought it back for her when she spent time living in Zambia many years ago. It will be passed down to me when my mum is no longer here as it has sentimental values and I will never be parted with it.
