    Good Morning all,

    We are considering getting another puppy, for our 7 month old B Girl. Does anyone have experience with either Debbie Hauri in New Hampshire or Eldorado Basenji's in Attleboro, MA. Any help you could give us would be greatly appreciated.

    My 3 year old Basenji Sonny is from Debbie. When my brother was choosing between both breeders it was a hands down choice to go with Debbie after visiting both breeders. We couldn't be happier with Sonny. He's a wonderful funny boy with tons of personality! :)

    My 3 basenjis are from Eldorado - Eldorado are definitely BCOA members (Pam is currently BCOA president). Debbie at Mata Hauri is a BCOA member as well.

    I couldn't be happier with my 3 b kids (2 were bred at Eldorado - so actual Eldorado basenjis - and 1 is their import from Finland) - great temperaments and the sisters do a ton of health testing. They are also super helpful no matter how big or small the question - they've pretty much seen it all and are super knowledgeable.

    Debbie is super knowledgeable and a wonderful person and has some beautiful dogs as well.

    I don't think you could go wrong with either.

    I think you would be happy with either… Debbie breds some very nice Basenjis as does Eldorado Basenjis.

    Pam Geoffroy [Eldorado] is President of the BCOA and Debbi Hauri [Mata Hauri] is a longtime Basenji breeder.

    I am sure you would love a pup from either of them :-)

    One breeder from San Diego (Rancho Penasquitos) retired from their day jobs and moved to Texas; Bob & Terry Reed of Illusion Basenjis. Another San Diego breeder (Spring Valley) passed away almost 2 years ago; Doug Joy of Basenjis of Dune. Not all reputable breeders are visible on the BCOA website. Some don't want their kennels named because they do not breed very often. You should contact the breeder liaison via email for more breeders in California and other nearby states. The local breed club for southern California is The South Coast Basenji Fanciers. They can help you find a local breeder. The quickest way to get in touch with them if through their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SoCalBasenjiFanciers Northern California also has a breed club that you can contact, BCONC.     Fopaws is great. I actually bred to one of their boys and since then we have become extended family. They are wonderful people with wonderful dogs!

    AWW MAN! lol i wish I could have a basenji play date! lol Anyone know of anyone in Mitchell, SD? Would love to have a Basenji play date with anyone living here, or even passing through with their B's. :)

    @khanis: Not polished ??? Sorry, but that is one of the silliest things that I have heard in ages. **I'm sorry; to what is this referring? :confused: I have seen dogs that are uglier than sin.. in the show ring no less! People that can't breed a decent looking domestic basenji aren't going to be able to breed a decent looking African basenji! **Uglier than sin? Really? I really prefer health and temperament and function as breeding goals. IMHO. How is that for a bunch of African beauties??? **Your dogs are quite lovely. So are my two Jasiri-Sukari B's. But neither would win in a show. We think they're beautiful, too. And they both have sweet temperaments. Lucky us. :) s.
