My husband and I live in Winston Salem, NC and have a 2 year old basenji. We have been trying to find other basenji owners in the area as well, as well as a basenji friend for our dog to play with. I am really excited to know that someone else nearby loves basenjis!

Welcome to the forum. I would think that this mix of Basenji and JR would be pretty high energy. Looks like he has a very nice coat.

he does have a lot of energy he keeps my 2 cats on their toes. his coat is very nice and soft except on his back it is more course feeling and has been shedding quite a bit lately

My Buddy's coat is courser on his back too. Buddy keeps my neighbors cats on the run :D. He's not mean he just wants to play with them but he's too aggressive. They have this look :eek: on their face as they dart off.

Dexter just wants to play with my cats he isnt very rough with them but they dont seem to like it. however he does tend to leave the female cat alone and only bother our male cat.

actually yes the name is from the show (it is one of our favorite shows). my dad loves to call him Dexter the serial killer
