  • I went to your MySpace page but could not find the registered names of the parents so I can not verify on the OFA website that the parents are actually tested Clear. Your page also does not say what other health testing you have done nor the age of the parents.

  • Hi, not a problem. I apologize for any inconvenience, I usually just give names once people contact me since my priority is to place for fellowship. My male is Samuel Ramey and my girl is Kiononia Basenjis's Anna Belle. Ramey was tested way long enough ago for him to be on both OFA website and Basenji Pedigree. Anna Belle, last time I looked, anyway, last time I looked hers did not show up yet, but if not, I can send verification to serious inquiries.

  • Did you do any other of the recommended tests for basenjis? Hips? Eyes? and Thyroid?

  • Interesting that your girl is not showing up on either the OFA site or Sally's pedigree site? Have you contacted OFA or CPP to inquire about the test not showing? Could be if just recent, that the results have not been uploaded yet.

Will you be placing your pups with a spay/neuter contract? and/or limited AKC registration?

  • I saw on the OFA site that your male is clear - do not see the girl at all AND she also does not show up on the AKC site - is she in a different registry - or perhaps her name is misspelled but I don't show any dog or bitch with the Kiononia kennel prefix as registered with the AKC. Now it's possible that the AKC has misspelled or I misspelled it - but it's interesting that she is not showing up under any part of her name.

  • Just to clarify something on Dwilliams website…genetic experts WILL tell you that if you breed a carrier to a clear, you will only get carriers and clears, not affecteds. That is Mendelian genetics, that is accepted in medical, science and biology communities.

You don't have to be a genetic expert to explain that to someone...just able to read a text book.

  • Sorry for inconvenience-Updated website profile, accidently lost half while doing so, but her number is HP31186401- I guess My mishap has lead to paperwork being too recent to show up.

And meant to respond to this earlier, depends on who they go to and specifics on spade/neuter & AKC 'limited'.

Was this a planned breeding? Only reason I ask is that she is pretty young (only 1 1/2yrs) to be bred.

And thanks for the AKC number. You might want to send the information to Sally for the pedigree site, since seems she is not there yet. Who is her sire and dam?

Okay so I don't repeat myself over and over... please avoid puppymills/byb pages. Go only to the the basenji club for a list of breeders, use this link"" http://basenjiclubofgb.org/breeders.php Even THEN check out the breeders. As for champdogs site... when a site allows anyone to post if they pay a fee, not a good source. If all you need is a fee and one health test to be approved to be a member, not a good site if you are looking for well bred dogs from responsible breeders. Memtuka keeps protesting.. but this info is directly from her own pages. If she has more testing, then she lacks the professionalism to comprehend that people knowledgeable about breeding would never leave out tests, nor expect puppy buyers to look for further tests. As it is, it is woeful. As is her comment that she tests only if going to breed. A good breeder tests every single dog they produce and keep because they want to know what is in the line. In response to noodle a day ago reply quote @DebraDownSouth Really??? I don't know where you are getting your misinformation from. You seem to know who I am but continue to hide behind your moniker. The stud dogs I used ARE health tested and as far as I am aware Champdogs is a reputable website. May I suggest that you check your facts yet AGAIN and retract your libelous comments.<< I am getting my info from YOUR OWN PAGES. So if your dogs are tested more than I wrote, may I suggest you correct YOUR PAGES which is where I got, and said I got, my info from. Libelous when it is your pages, that's pretty funny. All anyone has to do is click on each of your dog's individual pages and see you list only the testing I said, with only the import with significant testing. Too silly to even respond to the moniker comment.. from someone whose name here is "noodle". Most breeders here use their kennel or real names, btw. As for info on your own pages.. members can simply click and verify.. or check screencaps below. I do hope if you actually have more testing, you will care enough about the image you are portraying of a breeder who has almost no health testing done on your first bitch, nor any listed for the studs of the litters. Lazy or impressively uninformed about the importance, I don't know. 2011 Litter: YOUR PAGE: ... Absolutely doesn't say sire is tested,on either litters YOU LIST.. see screen cap below. Her "health tested" lists only Fanconi. You say PPM, but it isn't listed. Sadly, you act like that is BIG..but yet, it isn't. Your import has testing, so it isn't like you aren't aware how much needs to be done. But again, you only list Fanconi. No PRA, hip, thyroid, heart, nothing else. But your page says "DAM TESTED"... nothing about sire being tested. If he really is, your job to note them, not "libelous" on my part to say what YOUR PAGE says: 28th November 2015 - Basenji (Dam Health Tested) As said before your IMPORT is tested :::Hi-Lite Bulldobas Wild Child of Memetuka ShCM (Imp Fin) https://www.champdogs.co.uk/litter/38881 Sadly, the readers can click on each of your dogs to see the scant testing YOU listed: https://www.champdogs.co.uk/breeder/24278 Our Dogs Ch Bulldobas Wild Child Of Memetuka (IMP FIN) ShCM - Basenji (Health Tested) Ch Memetuka Jabali ShCM - Basenji (Health Tested) : ::: the import: Hip Score : 3/4 = 7 - 29th May 2015 PPM : CLEAR - 17th February 2015 Fanconi Syndrome : CLEAR/NORMAL - 25th February 2014 Bas_PRA1 : CLEAR/NORMAL - 11th February 2011 Memetuka Cream O'the Crop - Basenji (Health Tested) Fanconi Syndrome : CLEAR/NORMAL - 22nd March 2017 Memetuka Dealer's Choice - Basenji (Health Tested) Bas_PRA1 : CARRIER - 17th March 2016 Memetuka Hi Roller - Basenji (Health Tested)Hip Score : 4/5 = 9 - 14th June 2017..... Please do plenty of research before making a decision to have a Basenji. Where are you in the UK? - if near to me you are welcome to visit my Basenjis and talk Basenji talk. I'm no longer breeding but I think it's important to visit Basenji homes before making decisions. As Benkura says there don't seem to be any female pups available at present. The plus of that is that you've plenty of time to see as many Basenjis as you can. Most breeders are like me and would be pleased for you to visit with their Basenjis.

I just wanted to respond to this thread. I hope everything is going good with you and things are working out. The thing I wanted to respond to was the thought that a man may have abused him since he does not do well with men. A basenji can make their mind up about disliking something for no reason at all. My first Basenji was with me from 6 weeks of age and never had a man abuse him and at two years old decided he hated men for the next two years. I kept him socialized and kept getting men to feed him pet him while I had him stacked and holding his head, had them talk to him, go over hime etc. after a while his dislike left as quickily as it came. I have had a few dogs do this sort of stuff between 12 and 18 months I call it the stupid stage, they all the sudden don't like men, women, the grooming table, the trash can outside etc. It is important to work them through their fear so they can be a complete dog. Just think how it would be for you if say you were scared of men but had to see them daily just think how stressful your life would be. I hope if you keep him you help him get through this or if you place him please be honest with the new owners and recommend that they get him out and work him through this.

None now until next winter. Basenjis are once a year girls. Your research should tell you that😀
