Well after long thought in the last few weeks i've decided to go ahead and have Kananga neutered. I know it won't necessarily help reduce his general anxiety but it will make things easier around his breeding season. I think there may be a dog nearby that is in heat because he's catching onto some type of behavior. Could be related, might not be. But the fact remains there will be increased energy/anxiety for him when it comes to late summer/early fall.
My vet and I also had a discussion about this when he was in the other week for a vaccine. He's at a good spot to have it done being just over a year old (14 months to be exact). I have no intentions to breed/show him but I was simply waiting for the right reason/time to do it.
With that said, he'll be going under the knife Thursday morning this week. It's been about 9-10 years since i've had a dog neutered. Any tips would be appreciated. I know tea tree oil will come in handy.
