I am trying to adopt from BRAT but I haven't had any luck. The first one I tried on ended up not caring to much for cats. My home was inspected and approved. My application is in. They have one right now named Saphire that I have sent off a few request but no reply. Any tips or pointers that you can give me would be appreciated. thanks

We have the same camera and lense…it takes great pics...

Amazing camera– what kind?!?! I need one of those! Beautiful animals-- as usual! Keep up the good work!

Janneke, I think you should change your signature to include your camera and all the lenses you use. EVERYone wants to know. But I'm not sure that in the states, many of us would be able to come close to matching your photos. There's just so much gorgeous scenery that many of us can't come close to.
-
Etzbseder…you said it right. The scenery in Europe is absolutely gorgeous.
The camera is called something different in Europe ( maybe canon 4500 ??) but I recall Janneke saying it is Canon Rebel XSi here in the states. It takes remarkable pics especially on moving targets, and we all know B's and kids are moving targets..LOL -
Thanks all!!
And Petra is right: It's the Canon 450 D, in the US the Digital Rebel XSi.

The new lens I bought is the EF 70-200 mm/2.8 L USM

Damn :D:D…you got the "L" lens...I sooo want one, but need to take more photos to justify it.
Did you get the 2.8 or 4.0 version of the lens?

the 2.8 version
Edit: but without IS. I think I won't need that with the pics I take..

WOW…good for you...I'm seriously jealous now!
I don't think you're missing much with the IS either, I have it on another lens and it isn't a huge deal for all the added money.
Me, I'd be happy with just the 4.0.

Yes, the 4.0 is great too, but I know I would want the 2.8 later on.. so I thought.. lets just buy it now.. Took some extra time to save for it though
What body do you use and which lenses? What's your main subject? I would love to see some pics!

My camera body is a Canon 30D…my lenses are primes (love them) with one exception...(the lens with IS is the 28-135 - the lens in general is just ok). I need a good zoom (for nature/wildlife)...hence the "L"...and in general I never seem to have the right lens at the right time with prime :D:D.
My main subject is mostly architecture...primes do work great for that. This is my first digital camera which I got about 2 years ago...I need to put more time into it as it is quite a bit different shooting digital vs. film and I'm still learning. Because I need to own my own photos because of my job (Design Principal), I can't post photos in any forum...eventually I'll have my own website up.

Prime lenses are great. But like you said, you always bring the wrong lens with you  And taking more lenses and changing them, doesn't really seem to work for me.. (I'm lazy and clumsy :o)
I would love to see some of your work, so please let me know when your website is up and running!
