Chaos' first real car ride

    So Chaos whent on her first road trip yesterday. We took her teddybear so she would feel more comfortable in the car. She did great by the way. Anyway we came up on some road construction, and Chaos made a mad dive for her bear. She sat on top of it and stared down the construction workers though the window. It made me giggle cause it looked like she was worried they were going to take her bear. As soon as we were past she got off her bear and layed down again.

    That's great. Now you know what her security blanket is. hehehe. Something like that can actually brighten up a road workers day. Especially the sign holders who just stand there all day, to see a dog jumping all around the car then stare him down when there's no danger of him taking the bear at all.

    Ladybasenji, where are you in Quebec? Montreal? We have a place in Gatineau (Aylmer sector) and one of my dogs might even be related to yours. You're experiences with your girl remind me so much of my first basenji, about 20 years ago–it gets easier, I swear! Let me know if you'd like help with Lady--they're nothing like labs and will never be "obedient" but there are tricks for training them : D

    I had nose surgery a few months ago and when I got home I was worried the dogs would be so excited and jump all on me, but it was crazy how mild mannered and dare I say tame/domesticated they were. I swear they knew I was hurt and gave me a day or so of good behavior. They are truly great dogs to own!

    Our Sally Loves it. She runs around like a chicken with her head cut off. It really is cute! She even rides the snow-mobile, or sled with the boys.

    @renaultf1: I'd love to hear what it was like to do the paintings that you did on Yupo :D and also why you picked it for your paper…I'm just curious :D . I'm a graphic designer, so I know Yupo well, however have never had a reason to use it myself. I painted on Yupo during a 'phase' when everyone was doing it. :) It was a total trip – like painting on a sheet of plastic. However, it made for some very unique and interesting hard edges. Lots of people painted with watercolors but I thought that was risky considering they would wash right off if they got wet. I did my work with fluid acrylics which stays put when dried. You bringing this up makes me think that I just may try a Basenji on Yupo one of these days. :) There is a veteranarian in Georgia who does some wonderful pet paintings on Yupo.     We use the seat belt/harness type for both of them. They're in the back and stay put. They just curl up and sleep.
