    Hello and welcome. She is a really beautiful basenji. I just noticed that your Lyric (Explicit Signet Eight Note) and the basenji that Mathieu in Normandie, France is getting ( Wikili Signet Gianni Versace) appear to be from the same kennel. Are they from the same breeder? If so, I wonder if they are related and how interesting that one is all the way in the Philippines and the other is over in France.

    Lyric was imported by Mr. Robert L.T. Dawson along with Ruby (Phil Ch Signet Denim and Rubies) and Briar (Phil HOF/Am Ch Kibushi Nyanga Signet Sweetbiar). Briar is long gone but Ruby is with me. Ruby is the country's number four dam of all time (all breeds) with 13 champion offspring. Lyric is the number two Basenji dam in history (behind Ruby) with 6 champion get.

    Lyric is out of Am Ch Explicit Habit Forming by Am Ch Sonbar Nyanga Signet DanD'Lion, while Ruby is out of Ch. Signet Unforgetable O’Bedlam by Ch. Bar-Bin’s Wynston of Antares.

    Have you done the Fanconi Test with your Basenjis yet?… Brenda Cassel (breeder of your Basenjis, correct?) has done some of hers and many of the people across the world have also been doing the DNA blood test for Fanconi, especially before this years breeding season....
    Your girl's sire is a sweetheart by the way, I have met him in person many times....

I have bought a puppy sling for my new boy so I can take him to the woods with Hoover, and let him meet lots of people and thoroughly socialise until he has had his shots. I don't intend to deprive Hoover of her freedom just because of the puppy. He will learn to walk on a leash but mostly he'll be the hunter nature intended him to be.

    Hi there. I would do some DNA testing on him. However, if you go to the Colorado Basenji Rescue website, there is a mix at the bottom of the page. There appears to be some similarities. You could also email Peggy of CBR with your photos and ask her. She has been working with Basenji and Basenji mixes for a long, long time.

    Yes to the suggestions to get her checked and also spay her. Aggression may not necessarily be vicious but rather reaction to the scary situation she encountered. It can be dealt with through consistent and regular training (with treats to start) - you might try the Fenzi Dog Academy online classes (they have a great class for retraining reactive dogs). But regardless you need to be more aware of her surroundings and not put her in a situation that may be scary to her or at least get her attention back on you (treats) when you can't avoid the situation.

    @nouno: His parents are also in Cyprus. His mother is 4 years old. Did not have any problems. His father is 2 years old and also did not have any problems. Not yet. Is too expensive as I have to send all the test to the USA. But I will get through with it as long as I am able to. Age that Fanconi can show up is from usually 3 years all the way till over 10 years

    I would love to get some Bs together for a play date. I'm starting to think Lenny may only be dog aggressive with non B's. He and Tayda spent a month with 6 other B's and it was fine! Anyone near the Ann ARbor, Michigan area? Michelle
