Male/Female? ...age? ...reason for re-homing the dog?, ...purebred (with papers) or not? ...general health conditions? ...up to date on shots? -

@basenjilover-0 - Typically there is a clause in the contract from the breeder that requires that if re-homing is needed, the Basenji goes back to the breeder? Have you discussed this with your pups breeder?

There is no breeder , as he's from our litter we had last year , we have had unexpected hurdles happen in our lives so this brought us here in search of a good home for one of our B's . We have 4 the mum.
father and two sons . If this isn't the right place to be searching for a family please just let us know , please don't judge a situation before you know what the situation is . -
Nobody is judging you - just need to know more about the dog before anyone can offer any assistance. Anyone who thinks about taking on your boy will need to know if the parents are health tested, if the dog himself is health tested and all kinds of details like, is he crate-trained, has he had his shots up to date, is he a one-man dog, will he mix with other dogs ?

@basenjilover-0 Very respectfully... I don't believe any of us meant to be judgmental. I think if you revisit your initial post... it didn't contain many details.
As you probably know there are so many scams out there that people have fallen victim of. That and irresponsible breeders that don't health test (Fanconi). As a community of passionate Basenji enthusiasts, we strive to help people understand the commitment of ownership and the potential heart breaking pit falls of moving too quickly.
I sincerely hope that you find a great long term home for your pup. Without going into details about your personal hurdles (that's your business), additional details about your pup would be very welcome! Color, temperament, health testing and things specific about the pup. My guess is that you'll get more than a few people here interested!

Good afternoon , cooper has bin tested for fanconi when he was a pup and so did is brothers and sisters he's a clear clear and so are his parents , cooper is purebred, he's tri color , he's super smart boy and has loads of energy! He's loves to play ball , out of all of our B's he's the only one that brings the ball back He loves to cuddle , he hates the crate so he isn't crate trained, we co sleep .

@basenjilover-0 We are a Basenji savvy family living in Ontario that would be interested in Cooper. Perhaps we could email one another with all the details about your pup and we can introduce ourselves to determine if we would be a good fit for one another.

Does this mean that you have successfully re-homed your pup? Or changed your mind and plan on keeping the pup?
