We are located in London Ontario Canada and we are looking for a basenji to join our family. We have done the research and we are super excited to make this a reality. If anyone has information on how this can happen please let me know.
@rjbasenji - this is the time to align with a responsible breeder for a pup maybe in 2021. Because Basenjis only come in season once a year and their litter size is only 4-6 puppies, it is difficult to find one especially will all the people that "want" one... If you can visit with a breeder that would help you or if not call them on the phone and tell them why you think that a Basenji would be a good fit for your family/lifestyle.
@abmyir We lived in Hawaii and could not find one in US back in 1960 so we got ours from N.Z Cost was $2000 air but he was worth all of it. [image: 1588543460557-basenjipurebreddogpukkanutwelcomenuggetkoa6yearsold.jpg]
You can search for breeders by state at www.basenji.org. Also you can find the link to the breeder liaison. This is the best way to find a responsible breeder. You can use this link to learn how to find a responsible breeder and what questions to ask. https://www.basenji.org/learn/ScreeningBreeders.htm You should always get health testing details and check out those results for yourself...just don't take someone's word on it....
Yes, I am considering :) I already filled out the forms for basenjirescue.org
After talking with my family, we're willing to take a rescue pup from from last winter, hopefully I'l get a reply soon.

@eeeefarm - Agree eeeefarm, but I do not believe that with responsible breeders this is happening with Basenjis at least not in the US.
Nor the UK either !
