    the problem boils down to this... what will you do if one leg refuses to let your pet continue? What will happen if you depend on them not checking something and then they check and your dog is grounded? I would like to say that we check several airlines before moving to Israel and many of them would allow a small enough dog I E. our basenji, in the cabin but they limited the number of pets most of them at around 3 per cabin and they would say that if someone flying who was allergic then your dog or pet had to go in the hold so you didn't really know till you got there. We were lucky to have 2 pets that could be next to each other and they both just sort of chilled and even though it was a hellish flight neither of them seemed at all stressed or bothered and we were able to keep them with us until they actually took them to put on the plane and pick them up almost immediately on landing. I just think unless you're moving the best thing for your pet is to find a way to leave it at home. If you must take the pet then you may be better off paying the extra to have a professional pet travel agency take over all the responsibility and fly your pet for you which unfortunately doesn't usually include in the cabin. I never had an issue flying puppies to their new homes in the cabin with their new owners.

    Oh God, I remember the first time I read this, way back in 1999, when this was a listserv. I printed it off, so I could show it to people. I have it saved and still laugh uncontrollably when I read it! Thank god there are no elk in Iowa. It's hard enough to wrestle a piece of pizza away from my two, let alone a carcass.

    I have had a couple stained glass made, but there is normally a 3-4 month lead time as the artists are already booked up for Xmas this yr. Most of the artists on etsy will be booked this late in the yr, I had two quilts and a needle felt made a couple yrs ago and I placed my order in June in order to guarantee Xmas delivery. If you have a nice photo, there is a company called treasure knits that does wonderful woven afghans out of a photo with about a one week turn around. I have had both afghans and pillows made from photos as xmas gifts from them and they do great work.

    Lol…sorry to laugh but I was walking Indy the other day and for some strange reason there was a pair of socks in the middle of the side walk. Needless to say he saw it before I did. He raced up to it grabbed them and was starting his best show dog prance by the time I saw him.

    Very nice work Basenjibratz! They look totally comfortable! And I agree that once the basenjis are used to other dogs, and have a chance to acclimate, often things go quite well. It is that initial interaction that often goes so well! You have done some great work.
