@Micah - Agree... when a litter is born and the pups grow, when one gets too aggressive with bite/play the others "walk" away and ignore the one that is aggressive or to "engaged" with the "play"... works in a litter situation... so it works with humans also. And it is not just Basenji litters that this works with, it is all litter...
As far as my comment about "glasses" is to point out with ANY BREED... you do not leave items they can get to... it has your scent on them... and honest do you really believe that a puppy know it is yours if you leave it within their reach? I think NOT, human children don't, why would you think that a puppy of any breed would? Please enough of this, there are breeders here that have raised and placed puppies for years and years.... and in all honestly, what we do with Basenji puppies is NO different then any other breed. So please, enough is enough. In reality I am most positive that anyone with a breed of dog will say "they rule the house".... does not mean that they do not have manners or training... And I believe and any breed owner says the same because that dog is part of the family... period.
To take that a bit further, yes, a new owner that is not dog knowledgeable, they need help from a responsible breeder when the pup is placed. In this breed it is important (as I believe that all breeds) need to be whelped and brought up in the home, not in a kennel... but that is just me. So in the end, you have your opinion, we have ours. So it is important that people go to a responsible breeder to get their new companion.... one that is part of the home...

I'd really like to remove myself or be removed from this site. Thanks.

Do not wish to remove myself, just change the name and my profile. I lost my 1st Basenji a few years ago, now I have another and wish to change the details.
And while you are at it, could you allow an easy change of details, such as email address, and physical address. Where is the privacy amendment?
