  • Hello! I am new to the Basenji world and just have to ask myself what took so long! My newest family member is Buck, a 10 month old. He is lucky that I have lots of fenced space and other dogs for running and playing. I look forward to tips and stories from this forum.

  • Welcome Chris

Pictures would be nice. What other dogs do you have?

There is more than one way. If the picture you want is online, you can link to it. Otherwise you can upload it from your computer. Check the symbols above your text. You just paste the url of the picture you want into the space provided when you click on the picture symbol. Or you can use the upload button next to it to find a picture on your computer.

  • @chrischris Hi chrischris, I'm new here too but not real new to living & loving a Senji..... you've got a whole ton of things to learn to laugh at!! Even if it's cleaning up all the stuffing that was removed by Buck!! But I firmly believe that it is all worth it!

    Welcome!

Okay so see the last pic with arrow coming up? That is how you upload a picture from your computer. Just click it, then pick a picture from your computer like this:

The little picture one pops up coding and you put your info between the ( ) where it says image url. So if you have a photo on photobucket or someother online space, just copy the direct links and put it there

  • OMG! There's that "butt thing" in the air! They either just finished with the circles or getting ready too!! I always loved that, butt thing in the air!! In the top picture, he/she has her top lip rolled in...looks like she's been talking! Love it!!

The butt in air is called play bowing. It is a clear invitation to play. :) In the smile... she's big on smiling, does it on command, does if if you stop petting her0_1477238787517_CaraSmileA.jpg

  • LOL!! What a beautiful smile!!

You will find a lot of new friends here. Do you need the site to order the cheekswab? You order it and do it at home. Very easy!

My heart breaks reading your wonderful story of Dinah - it is so clear she is a huge part of your heart -you will have such wonderful memories of her when it is her time to give up the pain. I also do not believe dogs don't have souls - of course they do - the unconditional love they give, the way they try to help when you are emotionally suffering, the joy they get when they see you coming after a separation - all these and more are proof they are very soulful. A loving companion dog is God's gift. All our hearts are with you, and our tears flow with yours. God bless.

Welcome and kudos to you for helping with rescues! It sounds like Kowboy was a great introuction to the breed. I'm sorry for your loss of him and Indy. this is a great place to share and keep memories alive. I'll keep my fingers crossed for a speedy relocation back to your family in CA!
