So many times people post pictures and ask what folks on the forum think about their dogs. Often, the most convincing in appearance turn out disappointingly to not have any Basenji blood. When you think about it, there are not likely all that many crossbreds out there. Most people with an intact Basenji bitch are not looking to cover her with anything but a purebred male, and in North America generally females are spayed because most breeders require it for pet puppies. Bitches that are showing are even less likely to be bred to something outside the breed.
New Basenji/Mix ?
-
We just adopted this 7 month old Basenji mix, Not really sure if that it what she is but she seem to have some of the traits. She was picked up as a stray. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on whether she seems to be more Basenji or something completely different. We also have a 8 year old Shiba Inu so we are sort of accustomed to dogs that think they are smarter or better than their owner .

She looks like a basenji mix, not sure what though
I want to say pit bull but that would be crazy xD I think -
She does kinda look like part pit sometimes, they probably do not like to put pit in the mix because it does turn some people off. She also has a pretty good bark so I know she has to be mixed with something. My daughter loves Pit bulls, she is currently going to school to be a dog trainer.
