Bs on Amtrak?

Off Topic
  • Other folks on this forum have mentioned Amtrak and its "no pets" policy. (I think there would be no better dog to allow on a train than one that doesn't bark and in fact will sleep the entire trip.) Has anyone been successful at traveling on Amtrak with a B?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Amtrak is pretty strict about it. There was a petition going around during the holidays, trying to persuade Amtrak to allow pets. It may still be active. Good luck!

@sanjibasenji Thanks for the article on Dog Genome Project - I found it very interesting. I was trying to figure out the interactive Genome wheel. It has the basenji closely related to the Azawakh and rat terrier but I’m still trying to figure out the first wheel which has the basenji listed w/ black/grey starting point. As far as the PBS Dog Tales video - it’s very interesting - it’s season 47 episode 2 - I highly recommend you watch the whole thing (54 minutes).

@Kembe, nice post! We've gone to solid food chopped up in a food processor, but we're grinding it a bit more course as we go. So far, no puppies are choking, but good to know!

@Ashmoore92 It got put on the "back burner" ... I have some, but not enough for a book. I'll circle back around to it.

Hi Lori, I live in Redwood City (mid peninsula). There's an off leash area (Pulgas Ridge) in San Carlos I take Buddy to that's up in the hills near Interstae 280. It's big and the dogs have a great time. http://www.openspace.org/preserves/maps/pr_pulgas_ridge.pdf The off leash area. A meet up at Fort Funston would be a lot of fun.
