I have a 13yr old basenji, who recently developed a distended/bloated stomach. We took him to vet and blood test and urine test were complete with no abnormalities. Vet would like to perform and ultrasound but hasn?t explained what she is looking for. Any thought on what it could be and questions I should ask vet? Thank you.

actually there was a discussion on the Clean Run groups about cooling coats. I know CR sell several different types and CR is very good about testing what they sell.

Just as a note, we had a Carrier bred to a Clear which produced 8 puppies. The testing on the puppies found 1 Carrier, 1 Clear, and 6 Indeterminate. According to Jon Curby, the rate up til now has been about 5% Indeterminates - but this breeding produced 75%!
As Kathy said, the statistics are for individual puppies, not for entire litters…

I'm so sorry to hear about Meeka's situation. This is the first time I've read the thread all the way through and I have to say I'm just sitting here in tears. I can't imagine what you must be going through. But please know we all care about you and are sending good vibes your way. Our babies are so precious. This is just so heartbreaking.

Miles is now in a cone because his ointment led him to put his foot in his eye and make things worse. 😞 I will try the hot-water method you guys described. Hopefully that will help him.
