Adding a second rescue to the mix

    So we have Basenji Fever!!! We are in the process of getting a male B to join us and our Diva girl Saavik. It will be a foster to adopt placement so we can try and adjust before deciding on permanent placement with us. I'd love to hear about peoples experiences with this transition and some ideas on how to go about it smoothly….

    He is about the same age as our Girl (a little over 2) and she is very dominant. He has been a very good submissive boy with the alpha girl at his current foster.

    Good to have a passive boy if your girl is dominant (aren't they all???) and good idea to do the foster to adopt, in case it doesn't work out. Expect your girl to be less than welcoming at first, and hopefully she will surprise you and like the boy. Start out with long walks together and come back into the house together; that has always worked for us. Good luck, enjoy!

    I'm not sure why your pictures are not showing up. I'm going to experiment. [image: 1467823614030-bathtimex.jpg] O.K. that seems to work. I dragged and dropped it and I see it. Now to check whether others can also see it! This is a picture of my two girls, taken a long time ago......probably in the '80s. I am wondering if the picture you are trying to upload is too big. Trying that now. I am not seeing the picture I just uploaded, so that may be the problem. ![0_1467823932526_Bathtime.jpg](Uploading 100%) Yes, I think that is the key. Downsize your picture and I bet it will work properly. As you see, I get the same uploading message that you did, but no picture, when I try to upload a large file.

    hi, i have a 3 yr old. basenji and we just got a kitten 3 weeks ago and it was hard at first. he wanted to play with it ruff!. he still does but not soo hard. i used this stuff called apple spray and rubbed it on the kitten for about 4 days. and he started to get more relaxed with the kitten. he's doing better now.

    @ibi_n_sane: 2 B-s are better then one :d yes, also a lot more work, as they can take over nasty tricks from each other, but on the other hand they play with each other and make themselves more tired, it is a joy to see 2 basenjis playing and enjoying each other, just beware that what 1 can do, 2 can do better and quicker and faster, and then I am talking about the mischievious stuff ;) whahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahhaahahahahahahha you are killing me here Kim :D He is!!! :cool: Just when he's near that Tri-thing of you…. :mad: hahahaha

    @felakuti: I wonder where the light golden eyes come from…our brindle is from the african project, cayote? jackel? There are a number of different basenji lines that have "light" eyes, both domestic and from the Af project, but the standard for all basenjis is dark eye
