Tigerlily, my 11-month-old Basenji/Rat Terrier mix needs a new home. Unfortunately, due to finances I am unabe to provide the care she needs any longer, and I want to make sure she goes to a loving family.

This little girl is an absolute sweetheart who enjoys nothing more than to be able to cuddle with people. She's wonderful with other pets who enjoy playing, and has shown no signs of agression toward other dogs or people. Lily is currently being house-trained, and so far i've had no problems ((potty training is going well, and she only chews on her toys)).

Lily has a brindle and white coat, and currently is weighing in at 18.3 lbs. She has been vaccinated for Rabies, DA2PP, and Bordatella, and was given prevention for fleas, ticks, and heartworm on 11/30/2011.

If you think you could provide a loving and attentive home for this little girl, then send an email to vsebastian42491@gmail.com.

@buzz-carmenator I have sent everyone who mailed me a list of Breed Clubs in the UK with their secretaries email addresses and also that of the Basenji Rescue co-ordinator. BUT - people who want a puppy are advised to read a great deal up about them, including the fact that, in the Northern Hemisphere, at least 95% of litters are born November / December ish. So puppies are unlikely to be available until late February next year at the earliest. Basenji ladies are once-a-year girls, coming into season September / October ish for the most part. Several of the people I have referred to individual breeders have already visited with them and, if considered suitable, have been put on lists for the next litter. However some people have decided that, on closer inspection, a Basenji is not for them and others have visits pending. Have a good read of all the articles, including the Zande Put-Off on my website (see signature block) and then email me privately.

Where are you located? There are actually a lot of options. Sadly, as of late, not a lot of basenjis being posted to BRAT. There are other rescues, including a great rescue for basenjis in Florida and California. Also, if you can't find a suitable rescue, please consider young and adults from breeders that they have decided don't fit their breeding plan. They also need and make great pets.

Yes, Soda from Edmonton. He is doing pretty well now, but still can't handle stress very well. But he looks 100% better than when he arrived home and his playfullness is just coming out. He still loves cuddles and kisses and is actually very, very good. Isn't destructive, quiet for the most part and isn't prone to outrageous behaviour.

This boy is no longer available. Fortunately for him, the original owners wanted to continue working with him instead of returning him. He is doing well and still there.
